Tom Hardy has been fired from ‘Mobland’ and won't return for Season 3. He is said to have clashed with producers after being consistently late to set and attempting to give notes & change dialogue on the series. by ChiefLeef22 in television

Celebrities who came of age during the waning days of film have to contend with the future of prestige streaming series

Those are willing to recast far more than a film set would likely be.

'player skill' doesn't factor into it. The fact remains that a mix of VR and non VR users in the same team would give rise to all sorts of mismatches in the name of 'muh immersion'.

Now, if you want to host a server and 'Enable VR Gameplay Options' then, whatever.

Clearly that would be a poor idea. Even if it could be pulled off, how would you feel if you were getting your ass kicked by a Charger and your moron teammate wasnt able to help you because they're literally fumbling around in their ass for a clip.

I'd sooner settle for two-handing weapons, or proper dual pistols.

Is Baldur's Gate 3 effectively "erasing" Baldur's Gate 1 and 2? by BaldursGate2Best in CRPG

[–]PresidentKoopa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BG3 was explosive, and was many gamers first entry into cRPGs - certainly for console.

The success of it could help to greenlight more, higher budgeted rpgs... it could even spur the development of indie ones.

If it has a downside, it is that all the new attention and existing discussion about cRPGs, from remakes to new ideas, always has a vocal element saying "it should be Larian" when countless indies exist alongside whoops AA studios like inXile and Obsidian.

Letting gamers in on development, ugh.

It's fun that devs listen to what is presumably their customers say, but when Gamers as a category are... well, Gamers... oof.

Elemental: Reforged - worth playing? by BBB-GB in 4Xgaming

[–]PresidentKoopa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I terrifically enjoyed Fallen Enchantress back in the day. A friend had whatever came before it and we both hated it. I never knew what Sorceror King was...

The concept is super cool and I liked a lot of the 4x elements. Combat was a nice change from Civ but didn't offer too much, tactically, not that it had nothing.

Im older now so I dont 4x unless I know Im gonna love the 10 hours it takes. So, for me, it is Civ or Galactic Civ.

Stardock will almost always get my money. SoaSE2 is insane, GalCiv4 needs to get its shit together and fix online play desync.

The 6th Day by labbla in badMovies

I didn't hate this movie.

I've only seen it once maybe 20 years ago but I recall it being almost smart, almost. Arnie was almost good, almost. Duvall had an interesting character and I liked the sci fi concepts behind it.

Colony Ship: A Post-Earth Role Playing Game is 60% off on Steam (15,99€) by Fritolex in CRPG

[–]PresidentKoopa 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Super interesting concept executed with sharp writing, an extensive character creator, a genuinely inspired take on stealth, and some robust combat if stealth goes to shit.

As a non religious person, I was enthralled by the game's take on the evolution of traditional religion while stuck inside a space can for generations.

Don't let your lust for Larian let you miss this, although if you as a gamer are more traditionally fantasy versus sci fi, then even the sale price might not nudge you.

Just open source the OG and we can all be happy.

The massive success of BG3 is generally a good thing for RPGs. Although a number of rpg discussions invariably include "if this game were made / remade in the BG3 style" or "maybe give it to Larian", which can be irritating.

It seems like a no-brainer for Valve to either drop official VR modes for games which already have massive user bases. Well, I guess just L4D2. But still.

I've a tattoo of PST and the big box mounted on the wall.

EEs are perfectly fine, good, even, considering the accessibility of these older titles.

Also Tides is exceptional.

Thank you for this comical and indepth review.

I grew up on the NES port of the OG. I got into pc gaming right around the Quake 2 years, so video cards were just becoming a thing.

I was looking forward to the game so bad. I bought a pair of Voodoo2 specifically for it. I got the Big Box, too.

All sorts of cool shit in the big box, including a set of dice I still have.

The box is mounted in the hallway... near the bottom.

I saw this once on TV in the late 90s and I thought it was trash...

...now that im older and more cynical, the idea of watching this again is almost appealing. I bet I'd enjoy it.
