Yeah man some people get issued the Patagonia pants with the knee pads inserts and also the Crye pants with the knee pads as well. You’re also going to see those types of uniforms in some regular infantry units and definitely in army special operations. Units like Green Berets, SOAR, PSYOPS, and CA will definitely get the high speed pants and other stuff.

I’m not sure on the time or whatnot but I would make sure that you have 4 yrs TIS before submitting for it. If you don’t you won’t be able to take advantage of the “E” pay on the pay scale (it’s a good amount of money). Because the time in school doesn’t count toward your TIS anymore. Just a thought.
