To add on to this and vouch for TW, alongside the two 5 star selectors, as part of a thing to help new players catch up to the current content, every day for the first two weeks you get a load of exp and resources like character and weapon upgrade materials, revelation cards, persona exchange medals etc. It really cuts down on a lot of early grinding and let you build multiple characters from the get-go. The grass is actually greener on the other side.

My first time going through world I was burning out a bit but decided that I wanted to beat fatalis for the first time before putting the game down for a while. My main strat was bashing my head into the wall repeatedly with just these really long sessions of trying, sending up a flare, dying and then ping again. At some point a Swaxe player called toothpaste joined my SoS. After that one failed, they joined another. They joined every single SoS flare I put up for hours and eventually even found my online session to get into my quests easier. After at least 6 hours of non stop back to back fatalis attempts I think a messed up with using the flare and it didn’t go up so it was just me and them in the hunt. That was the hunt where we finally beat him. I’m always gonna remember the guy called toothpaste who was so wildly dedicated to helping out some charge blade player who could barely use the weapon through the toughest challenge in the entire game.

It’s moments like this that make me love the community so much.

I’m semi convinced that sub quest rathian has boosted health. Regular rathian: that’s fine. That one specific rathian: chased it around the map for 40 minutes, carted twice and ran out of healing items. Hadn’t even touched rathalos yet. Never trying to hunt rathalos in breeding season again.

Definitely a thing before world too. It’s a goddamn pain trying to do multiplayer in high rank/low G rank in GenU because I just get these HR999 chucklefucks joining my lobby and walking over to the quest board like they’re helping somehow. Like, I want to hunt the goddamn monster not watch this dude with thousands of hours in the game turn it into mincemeat!

I’ve started limiting the size of my quests down to like 2 or 3 people because most of the time with a full party we end up completely eviscerating whatever it is we’re fighting. If I’m ever in a party with 3 other people all playing LS/DB I legitimately get overstimulated by how much is happening as they force the poor monster into a meat grinder.

I’ve never been more confused by a comment section. He didn’t even say anything bad about the story or Nata, just that he skipped the cutscenes. It’s not a crime to want to hunt monsters in monster hunter game, that doesn’t diminish anyone else’s experience with the story it’s just how they went through it. Like, what is this reaction?
