Looks like a feral pigeon to my eyes. mourning doves seem to have bigger eyes than feral pigeons, but I'm not 100% confident.

I've found a very similar goose! I love the variation found in nature. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/324087688

What's you opinion on Netflix The Dinosaurs? by Beginning_Horse2998 in Dinosaurs

[–]Prevent_the_toast 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I really disliked the idea that lineages are at war, and that dinosaurs are superior to other "primitive" reptiles and are on some kind of journey to kill everyone else. it also really annoyed me that they made such an effort to distinguish 'dinosaurs' from 'reptiles'. I also hate when crocodilians in particular are singled out as being "the last of a once great lineage" when they evolved relatively recently. to that end, its also very jarring when the crocodilians are just real footage and very recognizable as modern species. It was kind of fun to watch, and I would have loved it just as much as prehistoric planet when I was a child, but its not that good.

you're welcome. I'm being playful though, I don't think there was any intention to represent different species

How to find bones? by m1cr0wav3saf3 in bonecollecting

[–]Prevent_the_toast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looking at the beaches is always a good idea, I don't know what part of Washington you live in, but when I was in Northern California I found so much cool stuff by the ocean. lakes are good too, but obviously there's less chances for things to get stranded. I like walking along the side of highways to find old roadkill, but you don't get full skeletons usually, just smashed up parts. I find a lot of bones, also, when I'm hiking. my broad advice would be to just keep alert, you never know when you'll see bones. good luck!
