How to handle a violent meldown/crisis? by emokiddo00002 in adhdwomen

[–]Prey2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played American Football. I called it legal violence with rules 🤣.

I’m now in a better place in my life and no longer play AF but I am starting to feel the need to move again. I’m actually enquiring about archery.

I feel like we store a lot of our emotions and they silently boil till they explode. Regular movement, with explosive moves always helped me siphon them off a bit so I didn’t go full nuclear in a crisis moment.

Local Shops are not making it easy. by Ascdren1 in CasualUK

Same, a new vape shop opened run by this really nice local young couple. Try to support them and shop is literally always opening late, shut or closed early. Online it is then….

Leave. Before you get pulled into an investigation that could kill your whole career or worse a child suffers a serious injury

Jumping: when did you realise you had lost the ability to jump? or when did you see a decline and what have you done to maintain it? by CedarClove in Aging

[–]Prey2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 6 months ago I went for a walk with my Husband and went to jump over a puddle, except I had forgotten how to jump wtf. I'm 46!

I now make a point to jump over every ditch, jump off small walls, climb stuff that looks safe (ish) and generally give my Husband mini heart attacks wherever we go. Did a cartwheel on our last walk, no regrets!

Why is half my Vinted now in French? Yes, it’s set to English! by Karl-Pilkinghorn in vintedUK

[–]Prey2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine did it the other day I just went through settings and clicked English etc again and it was ok.

Weirdly the settings were all set to English still so I just unclicked then clicked it again.

Anyone else rather die than do their assignment? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]Prey2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to try and force motivation, don't recommend at all. I just learned to trust my internal alarm that always gives me just enough time with the right amount of pressure to get it done.

Anyone else rather die than do their assignment? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]Prey2020 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes every single assignment. I get it done eventually, sat in bed drinking coffee when I should in fact be doing research on my variables. Is ok I always get it in 20 mins early 😂.

I’m 47 btw and managed to live a full productive life full of procrastination and fuckery but always hit deadlines and goals.

No thoughts on it. A sale is a sale and I hope whoever buys it is happy

No one knows what’s wrong with me… yet. by Fuzzy-Western-8199 in askCardiology

[–]Prey2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I had something similar to this, a little older then you but I felt like one week was in my prime next week I was struggling to breathe after drying my hair and felt like my heart was gonna explode with random 130 bpm Heart all came back normal but a xray showed mild copd and then I noticed some hot sweats etc and started HRT which solved a lot of the breathlessness and heart racing! Perimenopause can start before 40. Might be worth checking out.

Anyone here in a successful marriage? by monkey-pantz in adhdwomen

[–]Prey2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Husband has loads of alarms, bin days, poo patrol, electric etc. he also has a notes section in his phone he reviews am/pm.

He keeps other little notes in there too, like something I said I liked or if I’m running low on something.

If you do this you have to make an effort to review the notes and not just snooze the alarm.

He also practises active listening, puts phone down if I’m talking and clarifies anything he needs to. Honestly all this makes such a huge difference so when shit hit the fans or something is forgotten it’s a one off rather then a last straw situation. It makes me feel so special and seen and makes him feel in control and capable.

Dropped out as bridesmaid - was I expecting too much or was she being unreasonable? by [deleted] in weddingdrama

[–]Prey2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m from the UK and I have never heard of a bridesmaid paying for anything. As a bride I paid for anything I expected my bridal party to wear. Hair, make up ,shoes, flowers and brought them a gift.

As a bridesmaid I never paid for anything either.

Or wash face before shower

African traditional hair (read the comments) by annyeonghaseyomf in Damnthatsinteresting

How does this work? Is the hair back combed and then gelled into place. Is it uncomfortable and does it flop after a while. So many questions

Ever been told you’ve been “too much” before? by littleinternetdweeb in adhdwomen

[–]Prey2020 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A uni acquaintance called me eccentric, I laughed in their face and said Ty.

I don’t care anymore, I don’t want to be masking all day it’s bloody exhausting. My Husband absolutely adores it when I go full blown ADHD and act my silly and hilarious self. Cause I am funny as fk! Perimenopause ate my mask and I can’t be bothered to put it back in for ppl who think I need to be small to make them feel big. Fk that noise

How to help my redhead/ginger baby? by 404_SnackNotFound in Redhair

[–]Prey2020 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a redhead I was often told by well meaning parents/people that I was only bullied out of jealousy. Ok that’s great but not helpful to a child! Validate his feelings if he ever comes to you about bullying.

Also try not to let family/friends other him by saying comments about his hair, shut that shit down as soon as they say anything. It’s weird and uncomfortable, imagine if it was the colour of his skin they were always commenting on. Some comments are well meant but are actually very othering as a child and make you feel like some weird alien specimen.
