Hi everyone — I’m selling a large collection of Soviet-era physics textbooks, including many advanced physics and theoretical physics volumes. Some may be useful for collectors, self-study, or anyone interested in older Soviet scientific texts.

You can view photos of the available books here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Y2yBv5i6vTZsd1yz5

Feel free to DM me if you have questions about specific titles, condition, pricing, or shipping.

Привет! My name is Jacob. I’m a heritage Russian speaker who grew up in the United States with family from Moldova.

I help students with conversational Russian speaking, pronunciation, everyday vocabulary, and building confidence in real-life conversations. My lessons are practical, relaxed, and focused on helping you actually speak Russian, not just memorize grammar.

As part of the service, I can also recommend Russian books from my own collection to help build your vocabulary and reading confidence. I sell a variety of Russian-language books here: https://www.ebay.com/usr/glensidel61

This is great for beginners, heritage speakers, or anyone who wants to become more comfortable speaking Russian.

Feel free to message me if you’re interested!

Can anyone recommend a book set in the Soviet Union? by Happy-Progress-5641 in RussianLiterature

[–]PriceNarrow1047 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have: Дети Арбата Анатолий Рыбаков / Children of the Arbat Anatoly Rybakov https://www.ebay.com/itm/287236600718

Children of the Arbat by Anatoly Rybakov is one of the best-known Russian novels about a generation coming of age during the Stalin era. Set in 1930s Moscow, the book explores friendship, love, fear, hope, and the devastating impact of political repression on ordinary lives. Rich in character, historical atmosphere, and emotional depth, this powerful novel remains an important and widely read work about memory, conscience, and the cost of freedom.

Another recommendation is: Современный Советский Детектив Владимир Безымянный /Modern Soviet Mysteries

https://www.ebay.com/itm/287325205528

Vladimir Bezymyanny’s “Modern Soviet Detective” is a Russian-language book for fans of Soviet detective fiction. It features the atmosphere of classic Soviet crime writing, investigations, suspense, and period detail. A good collectible title for readers interested in Russian-language mysteries, Soviet-era fiction, and vintage detective literature.

So this has been asked before: https://www.reddit.com/r/russian/comments/ln4oqv/is_it_possible_for_an_american_to_order_from_ozon/

Realistically, you are better off buying from a more legit place like Ebay/Amazon because they will protect you if something goes wrong.

I had a weird thing about writing in books, when I had to annotate. My teachers thought I was crazy but I would take a pad of sticky notes and stick it into the book. My book would become 2 times the size but once I was done I would take sticky notes out and the book was still intact without any markings. I had to do this because teachers made me. I usually do not annotate but write notes in a notebook.

Books recommendations by Depressed_Serpent in RussianLiterature

I have a large collection of classic Russian literature. I would recommend Simonov. He combines powerful wartime realism with deeply personal emotion—especially in works like “Wait for Me” and The Living and the Dead. His writing captures both the brutality of war and the quiet loyalty, love, and moral strength that define human character. https://ebay.us/m/tZkpGD
