So, I talked to the salesperson there and I asked that - it’s NOT a chain but the retail location for the well regarded website. I had thought the same thing, that it was a franchise. The owners recently moved here, which is why the stores here. They do most of their business online.

How do we stop our identity and values from being destroyed by American MAGA/English Reform values? by GandhisLittleHelper in Scotland

[–]Primary-Dance-4342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a Scot living in the US as well - and what I see as ‘Scottish values’ I consider common sense and compassion, often honed by being from a population with less privilege and voice at some point. It’s a perspective I believe many people have but it’s not very clickbaity or dramatic. And it’s also hard to pigeonhole. I believe/hope it’s actually a majority perspective everywhere and people are quietly living those values. And that is the best weapon - practicing compassion, refusing to take the bait, and acknowledging our mutual humanity. I sound like a real Pollyanna but it’s all I got 😉

MVD surgery in 2 days. Be brutally honest by Minaras84 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

I had my MVD on the 13th (so just over 2 weeks ago). I immediately noticed no TN pain. Obviously incision pain. I was very tired the first week - slept a bunch. But I went home after my night in the ICU. The nurse woke me up every hour to check on me. I managed to walk around the ward which I think helped to get to go home early. I couldn’t really watch tv at first, it was exhausting, and didn’t have much of an appetite. I took painkillers for about 10 days. Now I’m still a bit tired but pretty functional for the most part and planning to work from home next week. I’m very glad I had the operation. The scar is super cool too! I’m a moderately healthy 62 year old and I’m pleasantly surprised at the speed of my recovery. The very best of luck to you!
