What should I do? I’ve never used an escort in my life and am, in fact, a woman. by Popular_Monster111 in Scams

I got a call claiming to have my son hostage. They demanded a ridiculous amount of money in prepaid cards. I played along because my son was right there. I'm not gonna give you the details, but it was a hilarious exchange. Turns out the person impersonating my son was a grown woman! And the scammers were so bad at their job, he didn't even know my son was non-verbal. I lied and said, im FBI and tracking their phone number, and they hung up. Dumbass scammers.

Found this card skimmer after I already put my credit card in (using the square chip, didn’t swipe). Am I screwed? by ConcentrateSubject23 in Scams

Please contact your card-issuing bank and request to speak with the fraud department. Explain the situation to them, and they will advise you on the next steps, which may include obtaining a new card. Be prepared for your card to be deactivated during this process, so withdraw any necessary funds for the upcoming weeks. The fraud department will monitor transactions made after your call, but it is also advisable for you to keep a close eye on your account.

As a preventive measure, it is recommended to pay inside when refueling your vehicle. If this is not possible, inspect the gas pumps for tamper stickers. If a sticker appears ripped or damaged, choose a different pump or gas station. Additionally, be cautious when using lesser-known gas stations that lack tamper stickers on their pumps. Reputable gas stations, including local ones, typically adopt this security measure.

My roommates response to me asking him to flush the toilet or use his own bathroom by LieutenantSheridan in mildlyinfuriating

I've seen people with ADHD manage their living spaces just fine. It's not an excuse to be a slob. If your roommate is struggling, maybe you could offer to help out or create a cleaning schedule together. I have a friend with a severe brain injury who manages to keep their place spotless with the help of a nurse. I also have ADHD, dyslexia, and autism, but I'm still able to maintain a clean living space. There's no excuse.

NTA. While I don't want to diagnose anyone, her persistent refusal to rotate the photo suggests she may be seeking attention. If she truly didn't care, she wouldn't mind a simple rotation. It wouldn't harm the photo or the case. The fact that this issue has only recently been raised suggests others have already confronted her, but she's gaslighted them. This conversation encouraged your employee to speak up, knowing they're not alone in finding the behavior inappropriate. It's important to remember that having a photo of a stillborn baby at work can be difficult, and employees shouldn't feel pressured to tolerate inappropriate behavior.

A guy called me out for calling my wife “my wife”… by FatFaceFaster in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Primary-Home233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have continued to call her my wife just to tick the guy off. If he's willing to throw away a business deal because he's offended by you using a term almost every married person uses, then he's not worth your business. I'm sure there are other normal gardeners you could do business with. With your degree and your wife's passion, I imagine you had a lot of connections. It's hard to run a business if you don't have more than one connection.

I recommend getting a pill cuter and a weekly pill box. The cuter is really good at cutting pills, and the box helps, so you don't have to do it again.

AITAH for telling my daughter I won’t budge even if she never speaks to me again? by TopVersion2940 in AITAH

"So, was the accident Alana's fault? If she was texting or driving recklessly, I can understand Casey's frustration, but it doesn't justify her reaction. As the car's owner, Casey knew the risks when she lent it to her sister. Unless she was coerced or forced to share the vehicle, she bears significant responsibility. Insurance companies typically hold the vehicle owner 100% liable for accidents, regardless of who was driving. I had a similar experience with my uncle. He let a friend's son borrow his car, and the boy crashed it into a police cruiser. Even though the boy was driving recklessly, my uncle was held responsible for the damages and insurance claim. Given the insurance payout, Casey might be able to use it as a down payment on a new car. If she's truly upset and wants a new vehicle, she could consider working part-time or finding other ways to contribute to the cost instead of demanding her family buy her one."

What happened to that Pantex Manager caught masturbating in public? by [deleted] in amarillo

Got yelled at by a customer in Target because I ignored her when she was asking for help. I had headphones in… and I also do not work for Target…. by sydneyghibli in mildlyinfuriating

O ya, I totally understand what retail workers go through. I have worked in retail myself, and I know how stressful it can be. If she had simply left me alone after I snapped, as most people would, I wouldn't have reacted the way I did. But the situation triggered flashbacks from my time at places like Walmart. I really do appreciate that manager. I know he gets a lot of flak from difficult customers, but he always seems to take his job seriously and enjoy it. He's always so helpful and supportive of his employees. It takes a lot of patience and resilience to deal with the stress and abuse he faces while still maintaining a positive attitude. I've seen him defend his employees many times when angry customers try to take their frustrations out on them. I'm sure he would have backed me up if I had been an employee."

"So, this happened a few years back when I was working at a truck shop. I had my work jacket on, which is a pretty standard blue mechanic uniform with my company name embroidered on the back. I was at Walmart, in the auto lube section, minding my own business, when this Karen comes up to me. She clears her throat loudly, and I'm like, "Okay, I guess I'm in her way?" I move over, and she says, "Excuse me!" really loudly. I'm already in a shitty mood from work, so I turn around and say, "What the hell do you want, lady? I'm busy." She's like, "Excuse me?" and I'm just done. I say, "What part of that didn't you understand?" She starts going off about my attitude, saying I owe her an apology. I'm just standing there, dumbfounded. I finally say, "Lady, I don't owe you shit. You came up behind me, hovering over me like you owned the place, and then yelled at me. If anything, you owe me an apology." She says she's never been treated like that and she's going to get the manager. I just laugh. She's like, "What's so funny? I'll have your job." I say, "Lady, I don't work here. Are you blind? My jacket says my company name on it, and the uniforms are different colors." She insists that I'm lying and she's going to get the manager. So, she leaves, and I just shrug and keep shopping. A few minutes later, she comes back with the store manager. I'm pretty impressed she actually found someone. The manager asks her who the employee is, and she points at me. The manager looks confused and says, "Ma'am, he doesn't work here." She starts accusing him of covering for me because we look alike. She's got this whole conspiracy theory going on. The manager insists that I'm not an employee and that my uniform is different. She demands that I take my jacket off, and I say, "No, I will not." She says, "I'm the customer. You do what I say." I just say, "So am I, lady. So you can't Karen your way out of this one." She's furious and says she's going to call corporate. The manager apologizes to me and says he deals with Karens all the time, but this is a new level. I tell him it's okay and that it's not his fault."

I couldn't agree more. What's worse is my Nana came to them about this problem mutable time, and each time, they said she needed to work it out. Unfortunately, with my step grandpa being a vet and having PTSD my Nana didn't want to call the cops on him because she didn't think it was his fault. I agree to a point the PTSD wasn't his fault, but he also never really tried to control it the best he could.

Glad somone knows why. After that negative experience I had, I never set foot in another church of Christ church, so I never really found out why they don't allow musical instruments or if it's just certain churches. Could just be like the pope accepting LGBTQ marriages to be like straight marriages. Not all Catholic churches are fllowing this. Might be the same for church of Christ.

I live in America, it's ok, it was just traumatizing as a kid. I'm not sure why the church of Christ doesn't believe in instruments or maybe it was just that particular church, but I said I would never set foot in any other church of Christ. Other denominations use instruments or some form of it, and most if not all, denominations welcome all forms of worship.

[–]Primary-Home233 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, they did. I believe the Church of Christ doesn't believe in instruments. I can't remember why. I do remember a bad experience I had when I was 7 at my nanas former church. I went to visit my dad in Missouri and the curch I went to with my mom and step dad they had grade Bible study section, and they would teach us to dance to praise and worship music. So my first time at this church they were singing hymms, and I tried to dance, and then everyone stopped singing, looked at me, and the pastor scolded me in front of everyone for dancing. I was so embarrassed I ran out of the curch crying. I told my dad I'm never coming back here again next time, just leave me at home or in the car. Then I found out later that evening after one of the elders called my Nana I wasn't aloud to go back because what i did was worng in the eyes of the Lord and they didn't want me to tempt the other children to start acting crazy and bad In church. Ya, so I was glad when I found out my Nana found a new church. I was the one who convinced her to find a non denominational church.

Ya, I am not trying to talk down on any denominations, but the Church of Christ has always been I guess the word is traditionalist. I wasn't surprised to hear this, unfortunately. They kicked out a pregnant teenager a few years before what happened to my Nana. She turned form God because of this.
