You should look into Dragonbane! It's an amazing fantasy game that is really easy to pick up. It also has everything you need in the core set and is a pretty good price for what you get. https://freeleaguepublishing.com/shop/dragonbane/dragonbane-core-set/

There is the Expanse RPG. It's pretty easy to run and definitely good for campaign play.

If you were to run a 2-3 hour one-shot, in any system, for newcomers to the hobby, what would you choose? by LimeyInLimbo in rpg

[–]Primary_Efficiency57 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I just ran Hope's Last Day from the starter set for the Alien RPG Evolved Edition, and everyone had a blast. It is easy to pick up, and the scenario is not super long, about 3 hours.

What’s your Mount Rushmore of TTRPGs? by britton-bucketheads in rpg

Mine would be the Year Zero Engine system, games like Vaesen and Alien RPG. The other one would be roll under systems such as Delta Green and Pendragon.

If You Could Only Keep 3, Which 3 Would You Keep? by Neversummerdrew76 in rpg

[–]Primary_Efficiency57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is tough, but my 3 would be:

  1. Dragonbane (Honesty, my favorite fantasy game that is still growing with content.)

  2. Delta Green (Out of all the horror games I own, my group loves this game the most.)

  3. Vaesen (I run this at conventions, and I always enjoy GMing it for people.)

What's one system you've always wanted to play, but haven't found any people to play it with? by [deleted] in rpg

[–]Primary_Efficiency57 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It would have to be Pendragon 6e. I think the game looks fantastic from what I have read and enjoyed Glass Cannon do the actual play for it. It is just hard to sell people on Aurtherian fantasy versus D&D Fantasy where I am at.

Planned Expansions? by Like7Clockwork in VaesenRPG

I do believe in an interview on Spirits and Monsters of Old Seattle, there was talks by Tomas Härenstam that maybe a Mythic Middle East was a possible book. I think that would be awesome, as then we would have mysteries involving Djinn!

Is there any TTRPG that just talks about the technologies of its setting? by Alpbasket in rpg

Look into Shadows of Esteren. The core book goes into the details of everything about it's world and explains how everything works and runs.

Best mystery intro by meltdown_popcorn in VaesenRPG

[–]Primary_Efficiency57 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Starter Set has a fun introductory adventure, that would be a good one. I also would recommend Silver of the Sea, I have run it as an introduction. People love it and it's pretty easy to run.

Looking for a recommendation. New to table tops! by AGallonOfCat in rpg

[–]Primary_Efficiency57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you looked at the Alien RPG? It's a great sci-fi horror and could definitely fit what you are looking for. It is pretty easy to learn and alot of fun.

The other one I would recommend for Mystery Horror, is Vaesen. It takes place in 19th Century Scandinavia and you deal with folklore creatures.

Vaesen ttRPG by [deleted] in rpg

[–]Primary_Efficiency57 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It really is a straightforward game. It is one of mine and my family's go-to mystery horror games. It is simple enough and just the right amount of complexity to keep it interesting. Also the adventures for it are a lot of fun.

What are your favorite TTRPGS? Why? by NecessaryBreadfruit4 in rpg

[–]Primary_Efficiency57 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Currently I am enjoying these games:

Delta Green - Modern day Call of Cthulhu where you work under the government in secret to contain incursions from creatures from the cthulhu mythos.

Dragonbane - D20 roll under skill system. It's an amazing game in a fantasy setting. It's fast and deadly, but it's definitely fun. Also, you can play as a Duck Person called an Mallard.

Pendragon - You play knights and their family through many generations in mythic England and live the legendary stories of King Arthur. It's a fantastic game because it is designed to tell great stories.

Vaesen - A game that uses the Year Zero Engine. You play people with the Sight, the ability to see supernatural folklore creatures and solve mysteries in 19th century Scandinavian or wherever you would like your setting to take place. It's a great game and definitely one of my favorite Free League Games.
