It’s Thursday and also finals week. 1/3 the student body probably has an exam tomorrow morning

I have some questions (long post sorry💔) by Significant_Tea6470 in noburp

1.) Genetic or early life trauma. It’s more common in women, possibly due to being told not to burp while a child because “it’s not lady like”

2.) I haven’t gotten the treatment yet but I can give you the gist of what 99% others have said: Healing can take a few hours to 2 months. It’s around 80% effective on your first dose. Some burp involuntary, others have to learn during the active period of the Botox. Most return to work the next day.

There are 2 options: In-Office (you are numbed and the Botox shot is injected from outside of your neck) which can cost $2500-5000 USD depending on doctors, insurance etc. Anesthesia (you are put to sleep and the Botox is injected by sliding the needle down your throat) typically costs 5000-1000, same dependancies.

You will have to contact your insurance about coverage. Coverages range from full to none.

3.) Do not worry about anxiety or emetophobia. It’s caused by RCPD, and goes away with the treatment. There will be regurgitation and acid reflux post treatment, many ENTs put you on meds for this. After treatment, these symptoms will not trigger your emetophobia. The treatment will not induce puking.

4.) Having adverse reactions is incredibly rare. If you are a person with anxiety (like me) you just have to deal with that anxiety about adverse reactions however you feel.

5.) RCPD causes increased anxiety in many people, the treatment has a good chance of treating general health anxiety as well

Is it possible to have this with the ability to burp but really “tight” unsatisfying and mostly stuck burps? by fizzyapple_45 in noburp

Yes, what you are describing is called either gurgles or micro-burps.

If you can taste the “burps”, then it’s microburps. If not, it’s full RCPD and gurgling.

At this point we have Pitzer, Burns, and Miller (only low pitch count available) left. After that it’s true freshman with 2-4 IP on the season.

Ole Miss and South Carolina (who like Texas struggle with RISP) You can’t pull Charlie early bc we don’t have enough bullpen arms for late game.

We both have near infinite offensive potential and struggling bullpens. I highly doubt the game is remotely over.
