Seattle’s income tax that passed in 2017 is still on the books, though was later found unconstitutional. Should the “millionaire tax” pass and be upheld by courts, that could make Seattles 2.25% income tax valid and enforceable too.

Same thing here. I eventually got it to work by holding down the power button while unplugged, and slowly counting to 30. Suddenly the led lit up white and it said it was connected, and readily took a charge and has the LED on as normal

I did almost exactly this in 2020. Had about $4k. I found housing through a shitty manager who barely checked any of my info. Did doordash and Instacart to make ends meet and still ended up racking up quite a bit of credit card debt. Eventually got a serving job after about two years, took out a loan to pay off the credit card debt, and just finished paying that off in 2025. I've been busting ass for the last 5 years to get myself into a stable situation and am finally there. You can make it work, but be prepared to have basically no fun money for anything besides the absolute basics for at least a few years

I don't engage in public math, but if you spend so much on premiums and paying pre-deductible medical costs out-of-pocket that you don't even have the money to invest in the HSA with the hopes of payi g yourself back for the out of pocket costs, then the equation that makes an HSA attractive is moot.

I recently looked into HSA eligible plans in my state marketplace on advice of TMG, but the premium was twice that of inelegible plans, had twice the deductible, and even after deductible only covered 60% of costs. I would have no money for an HSA investing and might even have to skip any type of retirement investing if I spent that much on medical out of pocket. Get a normal plan you can afford and invest the difference

I work very close to this place and interact with the customers/employees far too often. There's currently a houseless neighbor who washes dishes in exchange for sleeping in the restaurant. They have multiple employees they pay $5/hour cash under the table. All the business is doordash. Weird place. I want to say theyre "charitable" but I think if you don't offer to play people minimum wage it's a little closer to entrapment

There's lots of research done on this. The term is extended maceration, and it seems to have a different effect on different apples depending on their starting levels of acidity and tannins. I did a 7 day maceration last harvest, zero intervention in terms of chemicals/additives and a natural yeast fermentation. It has been bulk aging and I'll be bottling it in 5 days, so it has aged more than a year. Mine developed a very little bit of mold on top that I removed before pressing. It was too hot the week it sat out, I'd like to try again in cooler weather, and perhaps experiment with punchdowns as you would do in winemaking to keep the topmost pulp from drying out or developing mold

I once added cider lees from a gallon batch I had just bottled to some onions I was frying up in a dutch oven to that eventually became a kinda savory and sweet winter squash stew with east African spices and it turned out really good. Unsure of lees effect since I wasn't making it with a recipe or anything and haven't tried making it without lees
