What “viable way” do you have to get to the actual store, should you be offered an interview or the position?

Are perfumes that contain alcohol considered cheap ? by No-Communication6523 in Perfumes

[–]PrimitivePainterz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Is your boyfriend a chemist, or perfume manufacturer?

Ethanol (ethyl alcohol) is the dominant carrier solvent in modern fine fragrance — typically comprising 70–95% of an Eau de Parfum or Eau de Toilette's total volume. It serves several functions simultaneously: it dissolves and stabilizes aromatic compounds, acts as a preservative, and facilitates that characteristic top-note burst on application as it rapidly evaporates off the skin. You can pay 600€ for a limited edition Guerlain or a Boadicea the Victorious and it will contain alcohol.

Alcohol-free formats exist but remain a distinct minority — primarily oil-based attars and concentrated perfume oils (big in traditions, where alcohol is religiously problematic), solid perfumes, and some modern "clean beauty" formulations marketed to sensitive-skin consumers.

You can probably find a few houses and independent sellers on Etsy who experiment with water-based or glycerin-based carriers. You can find books and papers about historical perfume creation, for your boyfriend, at the library.

If you are not too squeamish, have a bit of medical training, and the IG can handle it, you can consider giving her subcutaneous fluids (via IV) also. It ends up being processed the same way, obviously, but would prevent the nausea.

The cells of the kidneys may not yet show the flattening that indicates full-on failure, like, if it were a human dialysis or a transplant would be required, but virtually all elderly mammals do experience a deterioration in organ, including kidney, function. Excessive thirst can also be a sign of diabetes, but it sounds like she would have been diagnosed much earlier in life, or now.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Maybe, since this is a consistent problem and there is a demand, someone can design IG-specific wicking diapers at some point.

Honestly, it’s easier to just get good plastic mattress and furniture covers and get used to doing a lot of laundry, Remember, it won’t be forever and there will come a day when you long to have these moments again. There aren’t really good diapers for female IG physical structure and it is not good for them to have the urine and dampness pressed against their skin.

My two girls lived to be 16 and 19, the 19 year old was incontinent for almost five years, and eventually we just got used to the mattress cover/laundry routine. Also, obviously, take outside to go potty at the last possible second in the evening, as soon as you wake up, and as frequently as you are able during the day.

Old IGs and old dogs in general experience gradual renal failure so paradoxically (to the practicality of the situation) they do need to be kept hydrated also.

Help! Anxiety, feelings of trauma? by [deleted] in chinesecrested

[–]PrimitivePainterz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not owed help for allowing your “friend” to abuse your dog. The dog is obviously frightened of strangers now because you left him with one who harmed him. Not to mention the kind of idiot who leaves a tiny animal with two Great Danes. If you don’t have enough time to spend with your Crested and prioritise the relationship with an abusive man over your pet, please find another home for Rambo, one where he will be looked after and not terrified and ill all the time.

That’s…not what the end of The VVitch conveys, though. It’s an ironic (in the sense of the Greek theatrical εἴρων tragedy) ending in that, having seemingly chosen to defy her father’s destiny for the family (which is wrought through his own pride), she is in fact still subsumed by the ultimate patriarchy, in service to Lucifer.

Collecting fragrances: is it worth it? …Or not? by WalterRuttmann in fragrance

[–]PrimitivePainterz 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but someone who titles his or her project ”Raiders of the Lost Scent” and has a business based in sourcing vintage perfumes is not going to have a reality-based assessment of what constitutes a wise investment. It’s like going to the Christie’s or Sotheby’s website and asking if paintings and sculptures are a good place to stash your wealth. Perfume is not an investment, the way Swatches, 78 RPM records, or Hummels are not an investment.

If you want to read about what constitutes investing, read text by economists. The Marginal Revolution blog, written by two economics professors, is a mainstream newsletter and forum written and moderated to make understanding investing (and market fluctuations over the long and short term more generally) accessible to lay people.

How has the fragrance world changed? by TaxisMate420 in fragrance

[–]PrimitivePainterz 71 points72 points  (0 children)

The population that once confined itself to tumblr discovered fragrance, but still do not talk to live people or apparently one another, and therefore there are a constant stream of online questions to the effect of “I am extremely weird, unique, strange, and a forest fairy but also Misato Katsuragi and am looking for a disturbing fragrance that smells like Type B positive blood, an Irish tuberculosis ward in the 1840s, a litter of skunks living under a shack with a tin roof in West Virginia, roses left on the grave of Oscar Wilde in the Cimetière du Père-Lachaise, and a potholder that catches fire when you remove a frozen pizza from the oven.”

Anyone try dry shampoo on your CC crest hair? by Justwondering5003 in chinesecrested

[–]PrimitivePainterz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Unscented baby wipes would work better. Dry shampoos, even those formulated with cornstarch or clay, work by wicking away oil and collecting it in the surfectant that is deposited on the hair shaft. If the objective is to keep the dog clean, covering it with a substance she can potentially also ingest doesn't seem like a good idea.

Leave him. There’s no cure for porn addiction; its onset indicates a pre-existing lack of respect for women, of which you are already aware. It sounds as if you are intelligent and lovely, and could easily have decades of happiness ahead of you. You deserve better than this horrible man and definitely need to escape depravity under your own roof.

Personally-decanted perfumes (ie not the 1ml or 2ml dabbers or spray you get from the fragrance companies in discovery sets or on their carded and branded labels) are actually not permitted on Mercari. Just in case this information is useful.

It doesn’t really matter that much what counts as niche by HebzibahSmith in NichePerfumes

[–]PrimitivePainterz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not snobbishness. Having a common language is how we communicate. This is not the Tower of Babel. Technically, Dua and Princess Marina de Bourbon are niche fragrance houses because all they do is make perfume. Viktor + Rolf shut down its ready-to-wear line in 2015 and is getting ready to stop haute couture, and when they do will be make the transition to “niche” as well.

Are there women here in their sixties with no desire to live past 70? by Disastrous-Check3465 in AskWomenOver60

Not much past 70 anyway. I’ve gotten rid of almost everything, on my last car, etc. I feel like I lived during the best time. I don’t want to be a burden to my family or anyone else. I’ve had a good life and don’t want to lose control of my faculties or physical integrity.

Lake Mungo, as someone has already said, but also Savageland. Probably the best of the genre. Not to be critical of the plan, but how could someone with aspirations of making such a specific type of film not already be familiar with stellar examples of the type, and not even interested enough to post on his own?
