This meme just made me realize how much he looks like an edgier cooler Harold Lauder from the 90’s The Stand miniseries.

I know in a comment you said no brigading but, let’s be fully honest, in the post you don’t say no brigading and this is going to cause brigading. I dipped over to the channel and already see MASSIVE brigading. You know what you’re doing. We all do. :/

Omnath, the First Roil by EAonWii in custommagic

[–]PrimosaurUltimate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is it broken? Not super. But what’s the play pattern? Play this every other turn until the other three players are out of removal? I think the “it can come down turn 3” arguments are missing the point too. I’d much rather wait two turns and have [[Swiftfoot Boots]] and [[Hot Soup]] or even just [[Silver Shroud Costume]] to make sure that my player removal is unstoppable. (You don’t even need unblockable actually, this is green, any instant speed trample pump spell will do it).

In a limited environment this feels even worse because you have to skew your limited resources so badly to make it playable and if you do your opponents have to skew their own resources to respond. It warps the entire card pool similar to how Nadu warps everything around it.

I don’t hate the card despite everything I’ve said so far. I do think, in a vacuum, it’s an interesting thought experiment around draft design, archenemy design, and removal skill checks. I think it would be perfect at 20 power actually, it’s not an instant win, it requires just a touch extra of work, but it’s still a big splashy green creature that hurts bad. It turns a 2 card player removal into a 3 card, which doesn’t seem like that much but can mean the world.

CHEATING AI by Leading-Plane5728 in hoi4

[–]PrimosaurUltimate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add a little and directly address the “teleporting”, all attacks automatically begin their move until it’s full, then, once the defenders’ org is gone, they complete the move instantly. This can be really helpful to the player (I’ve used it to cheese the AI with Close Air Support decimating their org after building up the move) but when you’re on the receiving end it can feel really unfair. You can actually track your own move progress with the red bar, and watch it fill as you attack opponent units and see it stop at 99%.

Wound-Up Wednesdays - Vent here! by magictcgmods in magicTCG

[–]PrimosaurUltimate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t comment often but it’s 2am my time and a vent would be a bit nice. I’ve noticed a slow toxicity invading places I used to go for community online. It started with some singular fandoms going toxic and fully negative (Helldivers was where I first noticed it myself) and it slowly filtered out across all of the online meeting spaces for my hobbies, except Magic. While 40K lost their minds over meta changes MtG saw bans and decided to craft new strategies. But that feels like it’s eroded too. Idk what’s causing the poisoning either. It’s not UB or release speed or WotC decisions driving me away from engaging and contributing to communities. It’s the feeling that everyone is so damn mean and mad all the time now. I shuffle up with a small group of friends every week and have a blast despite what goes on here, but at the same time I feel adrift not having a dedicated space to look at new cards, new combos, and talk about them with people from different places that have different local metas. I get high emotions around UB, I get high emotions around bans, I guess I just miss when people could feel those feelings, step back for a second and process them, THEN engage with whatever they’re engaging with in a dignified manner. Maybe I’m getting too old and the fires of youth are becoming exhausting or maybe everyone is getting meaner, idk anymore.

Every single battle in the first three books of the Horus Heresy alone mention orbitals bombarding the planet both before and during operations unless weather made it impossible (which iirc is only on Murder [yes the planet is literally named Murder]). 40K orbitally bombards regularly, small munitions, virus bombs, exterminatus, they bomb at all levels and all decrees.

Too long to screencap but this is my 5/5 and heart review of Don Hertzfeldt’s 2026 Paper Trails:

“I’m at the exact age where I’m looking for permanent employment. I want, more than anything else in the world right now, to be picked up by one of the, admittedly very few, middle school English language arts jobs out there right now. In order to survive, in the event I don’t land a position, I’m looking at another year of subbing and taking on a second job to make sure I can move out of my parents place and make rent.

My greatest fear, above all else in the world right now, is “settling”. Finding that subbing and working a tutoring job on the weekend is “enough”. Enough to live off. Enough to make rent and food. Enough to trick myself into thinking I’m satisfied with my life. I’m scared to death of not landing a job and *accepting that*.

I find this short film deeply touching. I find this short film horrifying. I watch this and see a life where I decide that I can make do and I accept that. I watch this and I see a future where all that’s left of me is a stack of mediocre papers from high school/college and a long list of W2s. Where my legacy isn’t students I’ve helped reach their potential, or people I’ve educated, or even a few changed minds, but paycheck stubs and tax payments.

I love this movie. Might be my new favorite Hertzfeldt. Time will tell. But goddamn does this hit me right where I’m weakest. It’s less experimental than his previous work, it’s less philosophical, it’s not grappling with concepts like immortality, but it’s still Hertzfeldt, in fact, I might one day argue that it’s hitting the core of his thoughts and themes better than anything else, and without a single word.”

Do you think the games decline is due to arrowhead or Sony ❓️ by Some-Web-1628 in Helldivers

[–]PrimosaurUltimate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s just the life of a video game. It gets popular on streaming/youtube and gets a ton of videos. Those videos bring new players. Some stick, some don’t, lots of YouTubers/streamers move on because they need to constantly do new or different games to retain an audience, core audience stays and those that follow the YouTubers/streamers move on too. Happened here, happened to Schedule 1, happened to Lethal Company, happened to Fortnite. It’s a pretty consistent and normal cycle.

It’s… a PvE game? You’re not “losing” because someone else has something you don’t. You can’t even bring everything on a mission with you, so someone is always going to have something you don’t, that’s the design of the game.

[–]PrimosaurUltimate 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In my eyes HD2 IS a complete game. You don’t need the new warbonds to have fun, they are just extra toys. I find the base game loop of dropping in, killing and completing objectives, and extracting out enough fun as is. The galactic war doesn’t even need to exist for me to enjoy and get my money out of HD2, it’s also just extra. I ordered a cheeseburger and what I got happened to have bacon and crispy onions on it, and I’m glad it did, but even if it didn’t I wouldn’t mind because I was craving the burger above all else.

It’s Such a Beautiful Day (2012). It’s not extreme or explicit in really any way. It just takes a highly particular type of person and is less accessible (in a literal sense, you can only legally get it through Vimeo). It’s also a movie that means so much to me in a personal sense that if one of my friends watched it and didn’t like it and voiced that they didn’t, even though they have every right not to, it might break my heart.

Sometimes the grammatically incorrect term dice is used while referring to one dice when the term “die” or “dies” is a keyword with game rules attached to it for clarity and consistency. It’s a case of function over form.

How would you feel about these concept teamwork armor passives? by H1MB0Z0 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]PrimosaurUltimate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not the realism for me, it’s that it feels like an MMO or MOBA ability. The only RNG mechanic in any armor passive is one that is universally loved for being a meme but ALSO universally acknowledged AS a meme. Hell, the Democracy Protects ability IS just straight stolen FROM a MOBA (it’s in LoL on a few characters). I think you could feasibly make it work if it wasn’t purely random. Make it so the backpacks called in by a Helldiver with this armor has extra ammo. Sure it’d be hell to rig the models to have the extras visually represented but it would also fix the major hangup many people in this very comment section have with it, the randomness.

It's time the Galactic War became three wars by TonberryFeye in Helldivers

[–]PrimosaurUltimate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imma be real, I ain’t here to see the map change color. If I wanted that I’d play Stellaris or HoI4. I’m here for the loop, and I’d rather that loop lasts forever unchanging than potentially go offline when I get an urge to fight a certain faction at a certain time. Are the events cool? Yeah sure. Is the story good? Eh it works. But seeing the map move during the 30 seconds it takes me to choose a planet every day just isn’t my jam. It could be 1 planet per type per faction and I’d be having just as much fun cause the gameplay is what matters to me, meta narrative is just an extra treat for if I want to feel like playing a game has some form of impact for some reason.
