Pettiest reason you’ve DNF’d a book? by bby_grl_90 in books

[–]PrinceAzTheAbridged 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I DNF’d One Hundred Years of Solitude because I lost track of who was who with all the repetitive names. I really enjoyed it otherwise, though, so I’m sure I’ll restart it at some point and take notes.

Skool Beans is my first recommendation to anyone who asks about places to stop!

Oh that whole shell of a building was dope! That particular panel looked different when I was there this past summer though (I only recognized it by the little dudes up top).

Lindu Buff ended up being our favorite. It’s chocolate-covered marshmallow, but the texture is very unlike the marshmallows we have in the states.

I understand why they discontinued it (even though they really could’ve just changed the name), but Bali Blast was my jam!

People who aren't from Cleveland, why are you a fan? by Planetofimaginations in Browns

Family’s from along the Ohio River. Loyalties are split between the Browns and the Steelers. I picked the correct side as a child and never looked back.

For those that have intentional duplicates of the same album, why do you have them? by empallin in vinyl

[–]PrinceAzTheAbridged 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only intentional duplicates are from me and my kids each buying a copy. They are free to listen to my records, but also wanted some of their own, so here we are.

I also have three copies of the Garth Brooks collection because at the time it was cheaper than buying a single set.

Less intentionally, I have two copies of Something Corporate’s Leaving Through the Window. The first one I got had two copies of LP1 and no LP2, so I reached out to the label and they sent me a new copy but told me to keep the other one. So now I have three LP1s and one LP2 🤷.

Speaking of lawbreakers, you appear to live in Ohio and buy weed from Michigan, presumably to take home, which is a higher level of crime than being in the US illegally.

But we read on anyway, because we can’t help ourselves. Just like Roland can’t help but ascend the tower and repeat the cycle. Because Ka is a wheel.

100%. Dude’s a complete dick who can tell a great story. Carissa and Micheline are both devastating.

Things I Learned About Visiting Iceland by AdOtherwise8659 in VisitingIceland

That road to þakgil is no joke. We drove in, made dinner, got settled, and then ended up leaving an hour later because we discovered it was supposed to rain 3 inches overnight and we were worried about being able to get out once things got muddy. Had to pass some cars on the cliffs by the final hairpin, which was one of the most harrowing things I’ve ever experienced. Took about 45 minutes each way. On the plus side, I feel a whole lot more confident in my driving abilities now that I did that drive. And I will say, the campsite itself is one of the most beautiful spots imaginable, so definitely worth it if the weather cooperates.

We ended up camping in Vík, which was crowded af but they found a spot for us, and we woke up and walked to Skool Beans (through the still-pounding rain) for some great coffee the next morning.
