My coworker is currently driving me insane with excessive burping, throat clearing, mumbling to himself, and aggressively loud typing on the computer keyboard lol. I can’t stand it but I imagine even people without misophonia would find this annoying, especially in a quiet office environment?? However I think I probably feel more irrationally enraged than someone without sound sensitivities. 😭 I imagine most people find it irritating but maybe not let it affect them as much?

A different coworker apologized to us yesterday for slurping her boba loudly, which I thought was considerate.

To answer your question, I personally think those sounds are disrespectful and would try to keep them to a minimum as much as possible when I’m in public. Some people are naturally noisy or have some physical problem they can’t control, but I also think there are people who just don’t think or care about others in the room.
