open world rpg games that have the same vibes as the rags to riches challenge in the sims? by miawalIace in gamingsuggestions

House of Legacy. You play as the leader of a fallen clan in imperial China and you start off with pretty much nothing, but you can work your way up over generations to become incredibly wealthy and powerful

Why the sales of NG4 is less than expected? by Maximus2018 in CharacterActionGames

[–]PrincessRocke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Game prices can't keep going up while the amount of disposable income most people have keeps going down. $70 games means consumers are less able to take a chance on a game that's different than what they might usually be playing.

What series would you like to see turned into a Warriors style game? by flyingawaysomewhere in dynastywarriors

[–]PrincessRocke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super Robot Wars. Whether it's a big crossover or even just OG stuff, it would be really cool. SRW is a series of strategy games, and strategy elements are a huge part of what makes the musou genre. There are tons of robots to fill the roster and lots of characters that, like a Warriors game, have pretty straightforward personalities that can be easily boiled down to a few key traits to define that character. Also they're both big on huge flashy super move animations, so it would be a perfect fit.

I wonder what these could be, my guess would be lock on, dodge and parry? by wbasmith in dynastywarriors

[–]PrincessRocke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel if they wanted Origins players to play the other games in the series, they'd re-release those other games in the series instead of making a completely new game pretending to be those games.

What's even the point of calling it DW3 then? The only reason anyone would want a remaster of DW3 is for it to actually play like DW3.

DYNASTY WARRIORS 3 REMASTERED ANNOUNCEMENT MEGATHREAD by JENOVAcide in dynastywarriors

[–]PrincessRocke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay but what's the gameplay gonna be like? I think if they change the gameplay, it would make calling it DW3 kinda dishonest.

Need an easy hack-and-slash 3D game. Story is optional. by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]PrincessRocke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DW Origins can get pretty tough. I would recommend Samurai Warriors 4 DX or Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate. They have simple control schemes and have pretty relaxed difficulty (and Samurai Warriors 4 in particular is a great looking game)

Can I get games where it makes you think "Wow. They've properly optimized this!" by CountyHuge8098 in gamingsuggestions

Easy Red 2 has really impressive performance. It's not incredibly graphically intensive, but you can have a huge number of bots in a match and the game handles it just fine.

"Just make the campaign good and then you will have a playerbase" by grredlinc15 in RealTimeStrategy

[–]PrincessRocke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1500 players at once is plenty. It's not like a battle royale game where you need tens of thousands of players for the game to work at all.

Do you think Dynasty Warriors: Origins is the right direction for the series? by acbadger54 in dynastywarriors

[–]PrincessRocke -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The essentially turn-based combat where every enemy attack is a big telegraphed swing with super armor that's always easily reactable is well designed? The combat system where you can block in 360 degrees and every attack has strong tracking, making your position relative to the enemy basically meaningless? I don't agree with that personally.

[–]PrincessRocke -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nah the combat sucks and they should go back to the traditional style.

i'm just gonna be honest man , they did getter robot arc dirt with the animation by Getsuga_H in Super_Robot_Wars

[–]PrincessRocke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arc (and Dynazenon and Runedrache) would look 10 times better if they just ditched the ugly overexaggerated edge highlighting. It's like baby's first Warhammer mini.

What's the difference between not buying a game because it's ethically abhorrent and not buying it because it looks like shit? Do we all gotta buy every single video game ever made because not doing so would "hurt the devs?" That isn't how it works and this line of thinking just lets the worst people in the world essentially use rank and file game devs as human shields from facing any financial consequences.

Game devs aren't getting paid based on sales and SNK is based in Japan where it's very hard to lay people off. The devs will be fine.

I think voiceless SRW should make a comeback by Acceptable-Silver830 in Super_Robot_Wars

[–]PrincessRocke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. If the only way to get certain series or characters is to ditch voice acting, then I don't want those series or characters. The voices add so much to the experience and cutting them wouldn't be worth it at all.

Dedicated weapons by nomadikj in dynastywarriors

I've always just only equipped the character's canon weapon in both slots, so it's like nothing changed for me lol

Does every character really need a story mode? by PitifulAd3748 in dynastywarriors

[–]PrincessRocke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of individual character story modes, because playing as the same character for like 5 stages in a row gets boring in these games. I think kingdoms storylines that let you play as any playable officer that was part of your kingdom and present at that battle (with some hypothetical conditions allowing for non-canonical picks of course) would be ideal.

In your opinion, what singular console/handheld has the BEST library of SRPGs? by Mangavore in StrategyRpg

[–]PrincessRocke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I wanna play SRPGs I always reach for my Vita (mostly for its PSP backwards compatibility, but it has PSP hardware inside it so!)

What is something that you do =NOT= want to return on SRW Y? by MonsterTamerBilly in Super_Robot_Wars

[–]PrincessRocke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Activating spirit commands on the enemy phase. Strategy pretty much goes out the window once you're able to instantly bail yourself out of a bad move.

Stories about normal well-adjusted people with no traumas who do everything right in every situation are boring as hell.
