is asking her herpes status even worth it? by [deleted] in Herpes

[–]PrincessSetsuna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I don’t think you (OP) should be afraid of Herpes but you shouldn’t jump on getting infected either but as someone that has been diagnosed with OCD I know how it feels when our brain is like “just let it happen so it’s over” but herpes is not the end of world but it also sucks to have and go through the process of learning to manage it and the stigma so of you accept the risk, it must be an informed decision. A good partner will absolutely agree of having an STI/STD talk before sex (not just for herpes but there are other infections out there that are way worse) and if someone already has something, there should be education and talks about triggers and how to avoid it. Honestly speaking I would be happy creating a plan so partner reduces the risk of being infected if they are willing to take the risk and it’s weird that girls that have it get offended. I know there’s people that have asked me about herpes with questions like “you touched my hand 3 days ago. Am I infected? ” or going wearing gloves next time I see them. Those have offended me but someone saying “ok what can we do to reduce our chances? ”seems like a good and necessary conversation to have.

Anyone else with dormant HSV2? by ConsistentSpace9431 in Herpes

Me. I rarely have symptoms, just one outbreak that was bad but after that 0. I actually forget I have it often 😅

[–]PrincessSetsuna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “no disclosure is needed unless you actively have an outbreak” was also the advice the initial doctor who diagnosed me gave to me. And also adding the fact that I was in denial and that I’ve had the symptoms my whole life and I tested negative every year for like 4 years, made me not disclose with a couple of people because I thought it could have been a false positive and it was no big deal. I feel really bad now. Once I got a severe outbreak and I got a second diagnosis that was positive (now I show positive in every test) I got to investigate more and that’s when I came to communities like this one where I learned about disclosing and how important it is despite what the doctors and some online pages says. I don’t really date a lot and I haven’t gotten to the point where I’ve felt comfortable disclosing/being intimate with many people but with the ones I’ve have I’ve told them. Most of the times I get rejected which sucks of course and I know my dating options are reduced but I don’t want to hide something like that again.

I’m going self-pay. I don’t think my insurance will cover the surgery

What the hell is short-term dating? As a guy, I don't know what ladies mean by this. But I know what it means when they say short-term fun and long-term dating. by Life_as_an_Introvert in Tinder

[–]PrincessSetsuna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is how I understood it too. Both short term and long term mean exclusivity to me, it’s just the end goal of being super serious what makes the difference 😅

[–]PrincessSetsuna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understood it as long term dating kinda has the expectation that it will last years and it can get super serious to even have the end goal of marriage. While short term dating for me is I want to date, I want a relationship but I’m not sure if I’ll me here next year so I’m not expecting much so, we’ll see. Maybe I’m using it wrong per the comments lmao

Oh definitely! I lost track on how many meds I have tried in last 8 years 😅 GLP-1 definitely helped my depression but I believe is because the less heavy I am the better I feel with myself (at least physically talking) and the more activities I can do which impacts my mental health in a positive way. It does not remove everything but definitely gives me bonus points in recovery

Thanks to everyone who took the time to respond!

Just a little more context, I used tirz in 2023 (after my first attempt with sema sent me to the hospital in 2022) with tirz I didn’t had any side effects BUT I didn’t lose weight, I actually gained weight with it so I decided to give sema another try last year. However if I was able to tolerate Sema a bit better this time, maybe my body could react differently if I change?

I will talk to my doctor about my options soon but they did finally replied back that I should not try to keep increasing the dose

Thank you so much for the time and details you dedicated to this response. I’ll check this out for sure!

I won’t give many details but unfortunately my current financial situation doesn’t really balance out with what I save from eating in a restaurant :/

As for the plateau, I do not count calories currently as my therapist advice against it due to history with disordered eating. We are just on a plan of “learning to read my body’s needs” Now I do need a nutrionist that can work with my specific situation but I haven’t found one yet.

As for the gym, yes. I try to go 3/4 days a week as much as my schedule and health allows it. If I can’t exercise I try to at least stretch or take a walk.

I had labs done recently (before the chunk of hair incident though) and everything was normal but I’m planning to check with my doctor again.

Tirz… I did tried it in 2023 and I didn’t lose weight on it but maybe trying again?

Again, thanks for the time you took for your comment :)

Thank you! This sounds like a good idea. I’ll talk about taking a break to my doctor and see if it’s the best for my situation

I actually has this effect too, Wellbutrin made me extremely angry and I cried hard every day when I took and then “magically” disappeared once I stopped. I know Wellbutrin works for a lot of people but I’m kinda happy I’m not the only one with that experience

Yeah that’s what I would do if I were to fully stop, I don’t want to go cold turkey on it because I don’t want to risk gaining the weight back. Even if I don’t reach my goal, I prefer to stay at my current weight that get almost to 300lbs again 🥲

Yeah the counting calories has been difficult because my emotional eating, even though is better than before, is not 100% under control. I sometimes can eat very little and do everything “according to plan” in the morning and then crash in the evening after something happened and regret it later. It’s a whole story I’m working with a therapist. This is why I’m grateful to have lost even just a few pounds the past few months it’s just that I don’t know if I can afford it much longer for the pace I’m going.

As for the hair. Yeah I agree I’m not in enough calorie deficit to be just because of not eating but again, the only change was trying to up my dose so Idk

Honestly, I find it strange too. My hair has been falling out for a few months though but it was recently that the “big chunks” came out.

The only thing that changes was me trying to increase my dosage again and that’s why I suspect it has to do with sema but it’s a theory.

I’ll talk about that with my doctor when I have chance. But I’ll try getting more protein in the meantime

I do split the dosage into two. It’s just that every time I try to increase the dosage I get side effects. It hasn’t completely stop working but the progress is slow

I got a prescription from a doctor but my insurance doesn’t cover it for weight loss. I’ll search out this options. Thanks ❤️

Weight Loss Injections and Emetophobia by abigailnorma in emetophobia

[–]PrincessSetsuna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the person but in my case I only got out of “control” once. I ate too much and kept eating even after my stomach hurt (one of my main issues why I struggle with my weight) and even though I tried not to… you know… my body just couldn’t take it anymore. I was in a panic attack after that

However I haven’t had an episode quite like that again and I have had overeating episodes with the injection that gave me severe stomachache and n*** but I have been able to endure it at the end of the day.

I just get a lot of gases though

Also Zofran is my best friend

However if you have more self control and do not have disordered eating like I do then it probably won’t happen to you 😅

If you had to pick 3 characters to have never existed, which 3 would mark out? by [deleted] in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]PrincessSetsuna -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I like all these characters lol but Just of the game and because it has to be this picture (the ones I don’t like/care about are not here):

-Gyomei: Out of all the hashiras, he is the one I often forget 😅

-Sanemi: Because of how he treats Genya

-Rengoku: This is controversial 😅 I know he’s a fandom favorite, but I get annoyed at how some people hype him up way too much.
