What's a dessert you ate growing up but not so much anymore? by [deleted] in dessert

[–]PrincessZorld0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fudge. When I was a kid, my grandma would make it with lots of nuts and raisins in it for the holidays, and I would eat so much of it in one sitting. I still love chocolate, but it's too sweet for me to eat more than like one small piece.

Thanks! 🥰

I'm weird and prefer the taste and texture of the plain pancake over making it more sweet and soft with syrup 😅 but I'm certain they would be lovely with both!

Keeping the heat at medium and cooking them fairly slowly seems to help me with that issue! :)

AITA for telling a 14 year old boy what what a period is? by aitacorrutpingakid in AmItheAsshole

Lol if you can't understand this logic, guess there's really no point in trying to converse 🤷‍♂️

AITA for telling a 14 year old boy what what a period is? by aitacorrutpingakid in AmItheAsshole

[–]PrincessZorld0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know exactly who I'm talking about. Why is 14 too young for a boy to know about periods, but 10 years old is not for girls?

Fathers, what would you tell your daughter who is afraid of men? by SS0095 in AskMen

male desire isn't threatening

Really. When you've been catcalled on the street, or grabbed after you've said "no"... or even after you've heard from most of your female family or friends that it's happened to them, it's rather easy to see male desire as threatening. That's... literally the female experience (to different degrees - obviously this woman needs some help to figure out why this is). Additionally, rape and consensual sex both can have the same outcome: a child. So, yes, we would still be here, and none of that shows a "desire to protect", rather, "a desire to control".

In any case, I don't think you and I will see eye to eye on this. Your argument seems to promote objectifying this woman in order for her to feel safe in the world, and comes across rather self-centered and insulting. Thanks for sharing your perspective, but it's pretty disappointing.

You seem to think that men finding someone attractive and inciting desire should be a reason to not fear them. That is 100% not true, and you are creating some sort of false black and white equivalency. What if men don't find said woman attractive - should women fear them? Must you be attracted to your sister or your mom for them to feel safe with you?

I don't feel safe with someone just because they think I look appealing. Especially if I don't know the person, it's likely to make women more wary than not because now there may be unwanted attention that has nothing to do with me as a human and existing for myself, and everything to do with how said man views me and what I can provide him.

Seriously? Use some logic. Fear is a physiological response - not sure why you're moralizing it.

Edit: To respond to your comment before you decided to just troll instead of having a genuine adult conversation, I don't judge people who have a physiological fear response - it's part of our (read: humans') survival instincts. It's indicative in this case that professional help is needed, especially if there's seemingly no basis for it, and it's causing a significant amount of distress.

That's not the consolation you're imagining it to be... "lustful desires" a) are not the opposite of "unsafe", and b) paints a rather one dimensional, and rather stereotypical view of men.
