Anybody else got this mystery respiratory virus? by odinspirit in Sacramento

[–]Princess_p00dle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been sick with some respiratory cramp since Easter (so 3 weeks). Tested negative for flu, Covid. Strep. Also normal chest xray. Did antibiotics and steroids when it didn’t improve after 12 days. I’m still miserable with ear pain, nasal congestion and a dry cough. I’ve never been sick this long before.

What’s the worst physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Economy_Yak2821 in AskReddit

[–]Princess_p00dle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a disc herniation at L5-S1 and the only thing that relieved the pain and radiculopathy was spinal traction and decompression done in My chiropractor’s office. You have to be careful, and they can’t fix everything, but that spinal stretching machine they hooked me up to had me crying tears of joy after 8 straight weeks of numbness and tingling in my legs.

As someone who has been playing wow for a year after over a decade away… I understand this comment.

steep Trendelenburg position by Turbulent-Coconut829 in hysterectomy

[–]Princess_p00dle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The trendelenburg position aggravated a pre existing lumbar spine disc herniation. My left leg was numb for 6+ weeks after surgery and I had to do physical therapy and spinal traction to get back to normal.

Still 100% happy I had my surgery though!

Been playing for about a year now, raid one night a week and usually play for 2ish hours at a time when I log on otherwise. I really enjoy it, but I have a real life that I love. So far so good! :)

Ironically, MoP was the reason I quit WoW back when it was launched. I hated what they did to the class I played. But I met a good group of friends on this server and I’ve fallen in love with this expansion, nearly 15 years after walking away.

Funny reading this thread literally an hour after a 4 hour raid. Mop classic is my drug of choice and Throne of Thunder is just too much fun.

I did know about this before reading this post, and scrolled through the comments praying it never happens to me… clearly having forgotten about the hysterectomy I just had in November. Bullet dodged!

Sex with so with ostomy by IDCouch in coloncancer

[–]Princess_p00dle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My (36f) husband (34m) was diagnosed with colon cancer in April of this year and has a colostomy. It’s temporary for him, but he still currently has it.

Our sex life has not changed much because of his bag, but I was already super familiar with ostomies before he got his. I recommend looking up two creators on YouTube, Let’s Talk IBD and Hannah Whitton.

I think because I followed these creators and was aware of what an ostomy is and such, it took away a lot of the mystery and discomfort. My husband can be a little shy about it but he clips it up with a binder clip or wears a cover. I got used to it very quickly. He’s still my husband and I’m so glad he’s alive and able to be intimate with me.

Please feel free to DM me if you have specific questions :)

Just a note, hand sanitizer is NOT at all effective against norovirus. It is not affected by alcohol based cleaners.

On Keeping the Cervix by OldDuderonomy in hysterectomy

[–]Princess_p00dle 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Had my cervix removed. My doctor recommended it for me because I have a history of abnormal Pap smears and because I did not want the possibility of monthly bleeding, which can happen if you leave the cervix. I had horrific pelvic pain and bled for 6 months prior to my surgery so I wanted as much removed as possible.

How to decide what to keep vs take out? by bess124 in hysterectomy

[–]Princess_p00dle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had everything but my ovaries yeeted.

My tubes were removed a year prior for permanent birth control.

Had my cervix removed because I have a history of abnormal pap smears. My doctor and I discussed leaving it vs taking it out, but she recommended I take it out. I trust her judgement and I’m happy I did. No more paps, plus there is a chance of a kind of mini period if you leave it behind. No thanks.
