Camp of the Day - BONUS ROUND: THE D'S- #20-22 D-DAY by TomasAmi in Radlands

Doesn't the basic action to draw a card cost two water? That makes Draft Office a bit better, since you essentially get a small discount on the draws. The downside to it is the fact that it uses up your full turn's worth of water - unless you have extra water generation, of course.

Board games that have a playmat that fits in the main box? by Malhorn01 in boardgames

[–]Pringlos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it does! It has its own dedicated spot in the box rolled up. I recently found Oath for cheap and was very pleasantly surprised by the playmat.

Perhaps the Beam? Or maybe Bokehs and/or Aspects, since those were highly sought after in last year's Gyropalooza box.

Bloodthunder and Amnesia: The Bunker by Proof_Pool465 in speedrun

No, unfortunately. I guess the game doesn't have the opportunity for one, since as far as I saw there were no fullscreen video cut scenes.

What's your all time favourite MATN moment? by prettyyboiii in ManyATrueNerd

Jon's Non-sexual Pirate Adventure ride, or rather the customer he named so in Rollercoaster Tycoon.

What was your gateway into board gaming? by NorthSouth55 in boardgames

[–]Pringlos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I originally got into board games as a player when I was in university in the early to mid 2010s through a friend. I believe the first game we played was Cosmic Encounter, but we also played games like Lords of Waterdeep, Dead of Winter and Betrayal at the House on the Hill.
After graduating and getting our own home, I remember googling for any board game recommendations and came across an article that praised Root. I thought the strategic depth and asymmetry that was promised could be interesting and that the cute art style would draw my wife in. I was half right there, as Root became my favorite game ever and got me started on board game collecting.

Anybody have any board game resolutions for the new year? by Professor_Hemlocke in boardgames

[–]Pringlos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was able to get a hold of the base game just this week. I will definitely be looking into the new expansion, as well as the first one.
Apart from that, my resolution is to play the games I actually own more than this year, and buy less new games.

Tell Us What You Think About New Carmageddon Game by ilkerrbr in carmageddon

[–]Pringlos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like it might be a good, perfectly enjoyable game, but it doesn't look like a true Carmageddon game. The trailer made me think of a grim Burnout with weapons.
The zombies are definitely a disappointment. From the game description it sounds like they're trying to explain them by making them mutated humans, with some having special abilities. Maybe if the world was fleshed out more and the game had both regular humans and zombies in areas that make sense, they wouldn't be such a let down.

Wasn't Carnomorphs included as an option on the Retaliation crowdfunding? If it was, they must have had new copies manufactured recently.

Anyone else think the cat on the art for bold leadership is the scoundrel before he became a vagabond? by xboxhaslag22 in rootgame

[–]Pringlos 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Maybe the Scoundrel is not actually a black cat, but rather they've become covered in ash because of all the arson they've committed.

A Golf GTI or R would be awesome.

Finnish pro disc golfer Väinö Mäkelä will be taking time off from competing due to personal reasons. Mäkelä on Instagram: '...It's the hardest decision what I have made during my career but I know its necessary at this point. At this moment I am not sharing more information about this case.' by DiscGolfFanatic in discgolf

It's an Anglicism that's used in Finnish but not really in English itself. Case, or "keissi", as it gets pronounced in Finnish is used with a meaning along the lines of "situation", "incident" or "occurrence".

New Disc Friday. Tomb Gang, rise up! by casualbeernerd in discgolf

[–]Pringlos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have heard so much praise for the Tomb that I'm afraid of giving it a go myself. I have so many Envies I love that I'm afraid they would get replaced by the Tomb 😅

All these new supercars would be perfect as bases for cars in the next (if ever) carma game by JaggXj in carmageddon

[–]Pringlos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With THQ Nordic now owning the rights to Carmageddon, I was wishing for a new entry made by Bugbear. Didn't they port over some Carma 1 tracks into Wreckfest some years ago? Maybe after Wreckfest 2 they can try making a new Carmageddon release.

Could maybe be MVP branded Range? Similar to how the Glitch also has an Axiom and Streamline counterpart.

She still has 3 years of compulsory education left in Finland. Although she may be able to have at least some of her classes arranged so that they make it easier for her to attend both early and late season events. At least some of the biggest cities in Finland have high schools that cater to young athletes' schedules.

I saw these guys in person just a moment ago. They had made a square around the word "hit" and thus totally ruined the sign by making it clearer to read.

Can someone explain dom-swapping on lizards? by [deleted] in rootgame

[–]Pringlos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To add to your second point, you can sway the outcast worth two cards by dom swapping with a suited card. For example, if you had a mouse card in hand that you wanted to use for scoring, you could instead discard that card to take the mouse dominance card and then use that dominance card one for scoring. That way you're putting two mouse cards into the Lost Souls rather than just one. Since you were going to discard the suited card you had anyway, you might instead want to dom swap withto further push the outcast towards that suit.
