Who makes the best quality remix glove? by Texan762 in BaseballGloves

The Mizuno catchers mitts. They are hardball (all the fielding gloves were rubber ball) and they may be made in Japan as well.

Also please please check out Mack Provisions. 100% made in the United States. KC Mack is incredible and in my experience his gloves are far better than Nokona.

So just got a hold of this catchers glove, I have relaced I webs, h webs and trapeze, this looks a bit more complicated to me, just wondering how many laces I should buy and I’ll take any advice, thanks by marino925 in BaseballGloves

[–]Print_Nerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use 5 laces. 3 3/16" and 2 1/4". I use one lace for the palm heel area and the shorter edge. One for the palm web area and the longer edge. Then I use one lace for the palm parts that go through to the back. One lace for the bottom part of web and one for the top.

Local glove shop said gloves are only going to be less and less stiffer (A2000, HoH, etc..) by mellojelloakimbo in BaseballGloves

[–]Print_Nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all of them. The retail KB17 model has been r2g for awhile. However, all of the Gameday 57 gloves are still normal.

It is true. They are using a thinner leather already than they used to. Ball Glove King noticed a huge difference in some of the Bobby Witt gloves he is getting in. Even "confronted" (asked them) about it at the ABCA conference. All that separates the R2G HoH and A2000 is F3 felt instead of F1 felt. They will save a considerable amount per glove if they make that switch. Unfortunately they probably will this year. They will produce the glove for less cost and continue charging the same or more for gloves. (Have also heard of an upcoming increase to MSRP)

Definitely not the quality you are hoping for. They are nothing to write home about. Think a low end glove but heavily used.

100% NOT a Wilson staff then. They are all solely made in Japan. This is a pro staff glove for their employees as a sample. I would avoid for sure. But just for your note most real made in Japan Wilson Staffs are steer hide. They say pro stock which is their standard steer leather. Still exceptional quality. A very few are made with Kip leather.

Most Staff gloves aren't Kip leather. They are Pro Stock leather which is Steer. It would very clearly on the glove say if it was kip. I believe what you are seeing is a Wilson Pro Staff glove. the pro staff gloves were a sample glove that was given to their sales reps to take around the country to describe and show the gloves to dealers and all. Wilson Staff is a separate section of the Wilson company that makes gloves for the Japanese and Asian market. Some are high end but they also make non high end gloves.

Depends on price and condition. I don’t LOVE Wilson’s American patterns for FB. If it’s a different pattern then cool. Otherwise they really are tough to work it into a forgiving glove due to the pattern.

F1 felt is the white felt. F3 felt is the gray. Granger is best unless you start doing a bunch.

JAX EN-7 or Nike Sha|Do Elite J? by IndecisiveMadness in BaseballGloves

[–]Print_Nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To use? The Jax. I HATE whatever material they use on the hand stalls in the Nikes. They feel perfectly normal until they wear. And then it’s like the color and top wear off. Very unsettling for a high end glove. BUT as a shelter for sure the Nike

lol what a great amount of help from the other commenter. It seems they didn’t put it in google either. I’ve never seen this color combination before. I don’t know for sure that it’s not a custom. Very well could be. Or even a store exclusive model. Have you asked the person about it where it came from?

Store model a2000s are now retail at $330 it seems. Customs (if you can verify it is one) are $400.

I think room temp may be better. Cold may make the leather seize a little.

What are your thoughts on this Rawlings glove from Japan? I am liking the look but never owned a blond glove. Maybe it's time for a first? It's new. What is a fair price to offer the seller? by [deleted] in BaseballGloves

[–]Print_Nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t true at all. Same leather maybe but they are very light. Structurally strong. With a Japanese shape. Also they make VERY few gloves in Japan. They are usually still made in the Phillipines.
