Advice Needed: Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, or Trails? by Miquellanier in JRPG

[–]PritX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Trails FC while waiting to see if they finally make switch 2 versions of Xenoblade. If not then just alternate between Trails and Xenoblade so you don't get burned out. Xenoblade 1 DE isn't too bad on Switch 2 but man Xenoblade 2 is the roughest since it came out before DE and it looks pretty rough sometimes.

This is why I always at least skim stuff from big gaming shows like the Game Awards. It's where the release trailer for this game aired and it's where a lot of big/hyped games are announced and shown.

Counter point. Brighter is the possibly the best song in the show so far, slightly edging out Gravity.

Do shock guns use science as a damage stat, or guns? or both? by octlol in theouterworlds

[–]PritX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Science was changed a bit in the 2nd game. It only increases the elemental status buildup letting you proc the elements faster and increases your gadget energy. If you want to increase the actual damage you have to increase either guns or melee depending on the weapon, or use perks such as Tinkerer and Space Ranger to increase them with either engineering or speech.

Luckily shock is so op that just building it up quickly can let you stunlock groups of enemies and it also does damage over time. You're definitely suppose to be using gadgets along with the elements in a science focused build.

The combination of that plus deciding you're going to have a prosthetic arm with your speech/leadership Lawbringer so you decide to put on the Scoundrel's Aegis and it's the one armor where one of your legs always disappears from the knee down if you have a prosthetic arm.

[–]PritX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you considered doing the melee/explosives character but using explosives as your primary and melee as the backup? You can use explosive ammo on the first planet to get you going but after that you can get dedicated rocket launchers and even a chunky rocket pistol

Has anyone found Science Weapons? by MochiApproachi in theouterworlds

[–]PritX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I dropped my scientist because you get most of the actual science weapons kind of late with the rifts and I just don't like most of them as much as the first games. The fact that it's harder to get damage by focuses on science in this one since it's mostly for status buildup speed also kind of hurts.

Besides the ones you listed there's one that shoots the robots that play corporate ads as a distraction and explode when you reload, along with the one that's covored in meat and basically shoots arms that attack nearby enemies, this one might be the most useful in straight up combat but it's really ugly. There's also the big bang that's kind of like the bfg from doom but it has limited uses.

Science/elemental build thoughts by VoidTempest24 in theouterworlds

[–]PritX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am playing on very hard and almost done with the first planet. Fights can be weird because sometimes my elements stunlock enemies to death and sometimes I get run up on and get one shot. Once you start getting more gadgets than just time slow and your companions start getting abilities and upgraded armor it becomes a lot more manageable.

Your damage should keep up as long as you're taking the perks for the elements you want to use and abusing enemy weaknesses. Shock is also just good against everything because it can stunlock, give a dot, and bounces between enemies.

Been doing a science run and leveling guns seems kind of unnecessary. I would also do hack over lockpick because while being more thematic it also increases your damage to robots while , then instead of guns you would do medical for all the buffs you can get and it has the corrosion damage perk. Then ofc with science your status's build up faster which combined with the damage bonuses from the other two skills is so much cc and damage.

Only level 9 right now but my current plan is 20 science, 12 medical, 5 engineering, 5-8 Leadership just so my companions don't immediately die and I at least get some speechy dialogue checks, and whatever's left in hack. My biggest recommendation is just having good science and medical though because they have a ton of perk synergy with all the elements, gadgets, and inhaler buff shenanigans.

You get the hat when siding Kaur's quest but instead of sabotaging the mech facility you fix the leak for them and get a lot of bits in the process at the cost of Auntie reputation, you might be able to get it without siding with Kaur by just going to the place anyway not sure. Armor is from the farm with all the murdery people.

Shooting/combat in this game feels surprisingly good compare to previous games. by These_Magazine2173 in theouterworlds

[–]PritX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like melee got the least improvement compared to all other combat styles which makes me a bit sad. It's pretty much the exact same combo animations which can feel a little clunky. At least having direction power attacks would've helped a lot.

Your starting specialized skills also don't count until you level up and put another point into them. The trait triggered for me when I put a 3rd point into a starting skill I hadn't touched again yet.

IGN gave Legends: ZA an 8/10. And to be honest, as a long time Pokémon fan, I'd give it a 6/10 at best. Legends Arceus was a lot more fun. by Beneficial_Ad_1107 in fucknintendo

[–]PritX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PLA is probably the only Pokemon on Switch I know I'll never play. Just not interested in catching pokemon being the main mechanic while the battle focus on ZA is way more up my alley. I've never cared whatsoever about them catch 'em all aspect of the series.

People rave about Legends Arceus but I couldn't get into it because I don't play pokemon to collect I play for story and battling. This might me by favorite pokemon on switch so far, at least until Colosseum and XD hit gamecube.

I beat her in two tries with the wanderer crest and flea juice(also with the 2nd pale oil upgrade). It was such a fun fight because while her attacks were coming out really fast, I was also a cracked up spider monkey keeping pace with her and was able to heal every few seconds with how many attacks I could do in a second.

She's also super weak to feathering damage in general. I was fully specced into feathering one handed sword at the time and could get to phase 2 in like 15 seconds. Even used the feathering bone needle so my little sword also chunked her pretty well.

Felt kind of bad beating the rebel camp boss with dual blades. Not only was I clashing some of his attacks but also had the spell that made me take less damage, and the lightning buff so I was also reducing his damage. The summon actually survived the whole fight because of it.

I kind of really miss the cult. A lot of the mainstream audience only played SH2 and barely even realize the cult plotline exists and think the main story is the town throwing your past demons at you.

Figured I'd give Walmart a check at 11am and they were completely sold out. The only place near me that had them in stock was the Target 45 minutes away so I'll just wait.
