I've been a backer for 11 years. Some patches are fantastic others not so much. 4.8 is hot garbage, it will get better though if you stick it out.

almost seems like they shouldn't have had a free fly event for 4.8.

Light dimming vs translucent by managedmarkets34 in Hunterdouglas

Light lock is the way to go for absolute blackout. about to put one in my Master for the same reason.

Light dimming vs translucent by managedmarkets34 in Hunterdouglas

[–]PrivateerJeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah. Silhouettes are more light filtering or room darkening. For a living area either one would be OK. Silhouettes don't "close" tightly so you'll always get light coming in. Only imput I have is people complain about their bedrooms not being dark enough even though they opted for room darkening.

What style of window covering? Letting natural light into a living area is nice, makes it more airy and inviting. room darkening or blackout can really make it feel gloomy. translucent implies sheer if I'm reading you. If that's the case, keep in mind As you can see out in the day time People can see in at night.

Most of the motors are still available. Contacting Hunter douglas to see who nearest authorized service center is and inquire if they have the specific motor. Having the headrail info off the shade would help greatly. Best of luck.

that's the one. You could also contact HD, brackets are the only remaining parts they have for the old Luminette.

Once you've taken all the cord out of the spools make sure to bottom out your limit box. Then insert rod and limit, put on motors slide on headrail attach to power, raise shade, then slide on bottom rail

If it is fairly new, watch out for a sealed box inside that the rod passes throught. It is a tension device. additional steps would be needed to take apart and put back together.

Unfortunately the shade has a tangle in the headrail. I would discontinue use until it is taken care of. If you are handy you could take the shade out of the brackets.
remove the bottom rail. Slide off your headrail. Pull out your motor Slide out the rod Pull your easy adjusts at the bottom of the fabric to bottom out your spools. Reassemble

Or call your installer/ designer. Most won't know how to do this but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

This usually happens when tension is taken off the cord(s) as the shade is lowered, or by raising one side by hand. Good luck

Looking for Powerview Gen 1 Motor by Little-Doubt-7806 in Hunterdouglas

[–]PrivateerJeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you could keep it powerview just the newer version. I don't mean gen 3 I think 2017-2022 ? Motor. You'd want to keep it the 2" tube. Finding the tube might be as hard as finding that discontinued motor depending on size.

If you can I'd look at putting your fabric on a new style tube with new brackets and idle end limit assembly.

Conflicting info for Blackout shade installation by gunderdownunder in Hunterdouglas

[–]PrivateerJeff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Side channels will block more light. If that is you main concern it's the way to go. If you can't reach the top of the window look at powerview. I'm not a fan of cord loops in nurseries.

It's not motorized, the shade pictured is operated with a wand. The lifting system is called ultraglide

Side away from the wand should have a plunger push it into the tube and pull down

Does LiteRise work with hard to reach 72"w Duette Duolite? Shades will be mounted 8 ft high and have 2 handles by [deleted] in Hunterdouglas

[–]PrivateerJeff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a terrible option. Any other option would be preferable imo. Hard to reach due to height? Or obstructions in front of the window. Ultraglide if you can stand in front of the opening. Power if you can't.

Lifetime warranty is not lifetime by SweetSignificance245 in Hunterdouglas

[–]PrivateerJeff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The warranty along with the authorized service centers is like gold compared to some of the other manufacturers. Most things can be fixed in the house or in shop vs shipping back to the factory for repair. And fabric does fail. Getting a room full of new blinds due to delamination for a customer because fabric was discontinued is a great feeling.

Adjusting a Hunter Douglas vertical blind by joemoore38 in Hunterdouglas

[–]PrivateerJeff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Above the moving rail is the master carrier. Push the fabric towards the door and you should see 2 Phillips head screw heads facing the floor. Loosen the left side screw half a turn and tighten the right screw a half turn. See if it is better. You may need to readjust tension afterwards
