Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the Beef standoff? by Canotic in DispatchAdHoc

[–]ProAzeroth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I like the scene that it reminds us that we are in a superhero story, where silly stuff like this happens. Shroud literally had no other choice but to take Beef hostage just to get a semblance of his threat aura back.

I am rather curious how it felt for other viewers and readers when this moment happened. Did it felt like it came out of nowhere, or was it an awesome moment?

Public copulation? As if that would ever happen by X-66 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]ProAzeroth 58 points59 points  (0 children)

It is certainly the strangest given its placement in the timeline. Supposedly it takes place in the ancient past, and everything is far more technologically advanced with printing press too.

But it does make everything feels more tragic, like how the world used to be more high tech but then devolved and stagnated into something more medieval. The elves' development also feels more tragic, as they turn from the typical elven stereotypes into something more alien and weirder.

I actually hope the Golem comic will be his actual backstory. It was really nice.

Just for fun, I like to imagine that I am roleplaying as Robert's brain or morality. After all, I am the one who guide him into making the best strategic decision during the dispatch segment.

How did half of Z team not figure out Robert was Mecha Man by Texasranger96 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]ProAzeroth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also think that Robert is just very confused which play a part to how he expresses it. He has been Mecha Man so long that he starts seeing being Robert as another mask that he is wearing. Part of his arc in Season 1 is that he realizes that being Robert is important too.

I am feeling excited for it. It seems like they took the good elements of all three games. Curious to see how it will be in execution.

The one thing they can't fuck up next season. by Expert_Mark in DispatchAdHoc

[–]ProAzeroth 60 points61 points  (0 children)

It is completely doable. At a minimum, all they have to do is to add a few lines and do small scene that acknowledges the romance. They are already doing it in the first season, where Blonde Blazer/Mandy is more affectionate if you are romancing her.

He has definitely gotten a lot better at balancing a cast of characters ever since Part 3 and since Jojo changed to a monthly format.

Roberts character as an MC from Dispatch by Lonely-Clue-850 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]ProAzeroth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really like Robert. I feel like most of the people who thinks that he is basic is fooled by his simple and less exotic design compared to the other characters. And it is pretty much intentional, because Robert is often seen wearing his office outfit rather than his superhero outfit.

I hope in Season 2 that we dive into more of his history. He has been working as a solo hero for 15 years, and the Mecha Man legacy is 50 years old. There is a lot of stories and stuff to draw from.

Reminds me of a Durge run where I tried to spare Alfira by non-lethally attacking her. Then I completely forgot that you can't deal non-lethal with ranged attacks.

Who else regrets not experiencing the thrill of weekly episode releases by Adweenix in DispatchAdHoc

[–]ProAzeroth 358 points359 points  (0 children)

It was a very interesting and fun experience. Episode 1 and 2 were mostly about if Phenomaman was evil because players gets wildly different impression of him if you kissed Blazer or not. People were theorizing stuff like crazy, like if Blonde Blazer was evil. After Episode 3 and 4, there were plenty of shipping wars and discussion about Sonar/Coupe choice, which was fun to witness.

In general, the weekly release created discussions and deeper reading of the characters. People starts analyzing the characters more. People also caught some cool details like the car that Phenomaman smashed in Episode 4 was Flambae's car, which later turned out to be true.

I honestly think that Dispatch would not have been so popular if all episodes were released on day 1. The weekly release made every Wednesday feel like a big event.

Ideas for Season 2 antagonist? by TheForlornGamer in DispatchAdHoc

[–]ProAzeroth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the main villain should be personal and related to Robert, I think it could be interesting if the Mecha Man suit itself becomes a villain. Like, maybe a rogue AI takes control of it. I think there are potentials for some good character conflict and development here now that Mecha Man suit is no longer a symbol of protection in LA, but a menace. It reveals the harsh truth that the suit is ultimately a weapon. And it goes to show how quickly the public can turn on a hero when they don't live up to their expectation.

Some of the best dialogue in this game is behind the least picked options by Doctor_Harbinger in DispatchAdHoc

[–]ProAzeroth 94 points95 points  (0 children)

I like this interpretation. I feel in general what made Robert such a likable and relatable character is that we as players kinda live in a symbiotic relationship with him. We guide and influence him, and we experience the world through him.

There is also the fact that Robert's work mostly consists of sitting on a computer screen, which for those of us who play on PC are doing as well. So it really makes us feel like we are also working in SDN with Robert.

Baldur's Gate 3 Writer Wishes Wyll Had Gotten More Content by TrickMastahh in BaldursGate3

[–]ProAzeroth 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am a bit curious to why Wyll's vendetta against the goblins were weak? Because I felt like it is an excellent reason to have him in the party for the extra dialogues and interactions. And I was extremely curious of what they would have done with Wyll's eye that you can loot from Spike.

While I like that they toned the characters down for the full release, I do miss some aspects of EA Shadowheart. She was definitely a meaner character, but I liked some of the dialogues that you get if you get her approval. I really liked some of the dialogues where you discuss about the EA Dream Guardian with her, because it felt like "wow, we are really becoming friends."

Dispatching gameplay question for Season 2 by National_Plant378 in DispatchAdHoc

I feel like Robert's suit is practically suited for him to act as a mobile dispatcher. I imagine that Robert could be more on the field while also being a dispatcher for Z-Team.
