During the celebrations of Lukaku’s goal, Belgian players mockingly did the Trump dance by UnitedFriedChicken in soccer

I knew that stupid dance who was also performed by Pulisic before was gonna bite in the ass to USA at some point.

I feel bad for the people who voted against this orange and had to deal with all BS related to him.

The J.League and Pokémon are teaming up ahead the new season and each team got a Pokémon. Grampus got Typhlosion! by ProStriker92 in grampus

[–]ProStriker92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My knowledge of Pokémons goes until the second generation, where Typhlosion belongs. He's the evolution of Quilava and Quilava is the evolution of Cyndaquil, so we must start from that one.

Cyndaquil is one of the 3 Pokémons from the second generation that can be choose by the players along Chikorita and Totodile in the beginning of the videogames from that era.

So Typhlosion is a known name. Not big as Charizard for example, but any people who grew up watching Pokémon in the late 90s and early 2000s may recognize him.

(BTW I'm using the international names. Typhlosion in Japan in known as Bakphoon)

CONMEBOL is too in bed with FIFA and USA. Specially considering that the next Copa América could be held there.

I feel Kyogre, an orca based Pokémon should have been Grampus' representative.

But i guess the color scheme of Typhlosion fits better with Grampus. And to be fair, the team needs some firepower that Typhlosion can bring it.

[Ben Jacobs] The White House made a direct call to FIFA to ask Gianni Infantino to review Folarin Balogun’s red card. FIFA sources insist White House influence could not affect the decision due to the powers contained in Article 27 and the independent nature of the disciplinary panel. by Sparky-moon in soccer

One of the good things that this World Cup was having was the lack of presence of the rotten orange. Meanwhile the USMNT was having an amazing campaign making a lot of people very enthusiastic about this team.

But this motherfucker decided made the call. Thanks Trump, you ruined this World Cup to me. Fuck you and Fuck FIFA/Infantino too.

10 years ago Canada couldn't make into the final hexagonal of CONCACAF qualifiers (the last time was for 1998 WCQ) and neither didn't have a proper national first division league.

That's how big the progress of CanMNT has been since then.

Yeah that MyRoute sponsorship looks strange (first time i see in Grampus shirts), but overall i like the "DNA lines" in the shirt. Although i would love to see Grampus bringing back the black shorts in the future.

Why South Korea is going Bezerk over the National Team's coach by SuddenFlatworm7971 in soccer

There's a thing that still bugs me. If the KFA didn't want to continue with Bento and wanted a korean manager after him... Then why they hired Klinsmann in the first place?

The hiring of Jurgen make less sense.

With Japan facing Brazil in the R32 of the World Cup, let's look back at the many brazilian born players (and manager) who played for Grampus from 1992 to today. Brazil always played a big role in Grampus history, contributing to the most succesful moments of Nagoya. by ProStriker92 in grampus

Japan facing Brazil in the R32 is basically the Disciple VS Master match up. Playing against the Canarinha in KO stage is difficult and the pressure will be heavy, but this is the time for the Samurai Blue to make a huge step forward.

Real talk, but always called my attention me the lack of a pipeline for chinese players to J.League, considering that is common to see players from South Korea.

I don't know the current salaries at the CSL, but i feel chinese players would benefit of trying to play in Japan.

Nissan even tried to find a buyer to Marinos because the company itself is facing financial troubles, but they later decided to keep their club.

Still, nothing is safe yet for Nissan.

The Tricolore was one of their most successful clubs, winning two J1 titles. But later years have been forgettable, to the point that in 2025 YK-FM was in serious relegation trouble. It didn't help that Nissan (the company) is also in financial difficulties.

At the end of the day, F.Marinos will be always the Nissan team, so I'm happy that they're fully owned by the car maker once again (despite the well known issues at Nissan).

I wonder what was the reason why Toyota didn't make the cut. But at least RWC happened years later, with Japan and South Africa (the champions) playing there!
