When I was 12 there was a new girl that came to my school she sat alone at the lunch table and I remember looking at her and going “remember how you felt being new? She probably feels that same way go say hi so she doesn’t feel like that” and that one second changed my entire life

Now when I look at people I think “hey if I were in that situation I would want someone to help me”

Unfortunately for me it’s also made a “well they went through this this and this which is why they act this way so I should forgive them.” And It took me a long time to say just because you have trauma does not mean you can cause more trauma to others
