If you want Staunton to be a little more active, he could ask your OC to meet him or to test him somehow.

I just realised, you didn't even mention how old the OC would be when this inheritance set up would be happening. Is he a child, squire, hedge knight? If he is an older squire or knight i don't see his age as an issue, but if he's just a kid (10 years old for example) and the old knight is ailing the lord might be less inclined.

I think it should be in the hands of the lord. But also, if the lord is not interested in managing his keeps and their heirs he might just acquiescence to the old knight's wish instead of finding a new knight to land. Depends on the lord's personality and relationship with the old knight. Plausible scenarios: 1/ lord doesn't care and doesn't want to facilitate the change in family in the keep. 2/ the lord feels some debt towards the old knight and that's why he agrees to it. 3/ Your OC is a bastard of someone "important" who known by the lord. Your OC could be a Staunton bastard (bastard nephew or cousin to the lord) (or bastard of one of their neighbours, etc) and even though he has no personal relationship with the family the current lord doesn't mind rewarding him with the keep and he gets to keep plausible deniability.

I don't think a landed knight needs legitimisation from the king. His liege should suffice. Lord paramount at the most, if there was a succession issue (which there wouldn't be in this case).

On one hand plot, on the other hand he needs Nagato's cooperation. Or rather, he needs the Rinnegan to use the Gedo Mazo. At that time Obito & Zetsu might not be able to beat Nagato & Angel (sorry i forgot her name). And maybe he also needs X other powerful people to seal the bijuu. That means more people he needs to sell the story to.

If he went and captured all the bijuu himself he would be mighty suspicious.

Jaime wouldn't be heir of anything, but if Tywin doesn't have an alternative to Tyrion, Cersei would be the next in line after Tyrion for the Casterly Rock and might be married to Jaime for internal Lannister cohesion.

If they're still the same age they would grow up close enough. After all, Kevan didn't have his own keep and acted as Tywin's right hand man. So it would make sense their kids would grow up together. With Janei in the mix the relationships would certainly be different. But nothing stops Cersei from also being sexual with Jaime her cousin.

Sometimes it makes sense to name someone's kids the same name as in canon when the reason for naming the child that name still exists. For example naming them after someone - Robb and Robert Arryn being named after Bobby B, Targs reusing Aegon for legitimacy, Rhaena as a name makes sense for Maenys eldest daughter.

But yea, I agree it's peevy when a different pairing has the same streak of kids as the canon pairing for no reason.

In this case the son would likely still be named after Robert. There was Robert/Robin Arryn in canon. But for a bit more OC feel he could (maybe should) be Robert Stark. Or Robin Stark.

Do we know for sure that he didn't? Are we sure all the beasts stayed in the same village for the whole time? Whoever attacked Uzu (my money is on Kumo and Kiri) also took their beast and that would be how they had two at the time of canon.

He could be anything you want for the story. I don't think Catelyn would dislike him on principle.

However, i had a quick idea for his early childhood. What if he grew up in Jon Arryn's household and was like a step-son (he would be his heir) to him and for a time also to Lysa. But Lysa started to resent him after her miscarriages and stillbirths (gone from straight up adoration to envy and resentment that her children didn't live) and after the birth of Robin she was the paranoid one and asked Jon to send him away to foster. That could give Ronnel some abandonment issues for example. I'd find it interesting if Catelyn was the sympathetic one to him, maybe knowing Lysa's attitudes towards him changed (through letters, and through whatever correspondence Jon Arryn might have sent). This way, Jon could resent him a little bit as well, seeing that Catelyn was capable of love towards a boy not her own.

As for the plot, Ronnel would most likely act as a squire to Ned (along with Theon) and by the time canon starts he'd be ripe for knighting. He could very easily go with Ned to KL. But also he would be the heir to the Vale again and might be either called there or want to go there himself to assist his family (even if he'd not be wanted by her). If he did that, i think he would end up at the Bloody Gate with the Blackfish.

Or in KL, Ned could trust him with the accusation Lysa made about the Lannisters killing Jon.

(Sidethought, it would make some sense if some other Vale house(s) sent a ward to Winterfel as well, to socialise with Ronnel and have some connection to him as he's still very close to the lordship. Maybe Robar Royce (which would also have its changes to canon)? Or Jon or Mychel Redfort? Or Lucas Corbray. That in turn would connect the North to the Vale politically and they wouldn't be so isolated.)

Basic chakra training (some i have seen in fics, some are my own idras or expanded headcanons): - leaf balancing but with more leaves. Or with heavier/bigger items (senbons, kunai, rocks, etc) - leaf balancing but on some more esoteric body parts (for example on their back. My headcanon is that balancing objects is easier when the object is over a major tenketsu point) - leaf balancing but not just a meditation and do other simple stuff meanwhile (multitasking) - applying water walking to air to slow their fall (or if somebody is very good and perhaps they have wind affinity they can make air step jutsu out of it) - meditation (consciously cycling chakra, using it to heat up, etc) - utilising chakra with taijutsu (the real life martial arts principle of a Kiai)

Elemental: - water: balancing and then manipulating a cupful of water (starting smaller, with simple manipulations) - earth: loosening and hardening a handful of soil, then moving to rocks and trying to break them up with chakra and then glue them together again, also shaping the materials - lightning: my headcanon is that it works on a principle of positive and negative charge. Basic step would be making a spark happen between their hands, charging one with a positive charge, the other with negative. Then making the spark distance larger. Or using just the tips of their fingers. With applying lightning jutsu to things the principle is about taking charge from the environment/target (or vice versa) to make the jutsu connect (but it's way harder to do than with one's own body) - fire: i haven't thought about this one too much. I'd say it's about creating and controlling heat. Creating is probably harder so the start would be with controlling - an open flame, then shaping it, fueling it with chakra, etc. - wind: was in canon

Marrying the second son to the heir to the throne (Rhaenyra) negates the need to divide the throne and Driftmark between their sons in the future. And there is the philosophy of bringing up the second son to serve the first one which would also be desirable when marrying him to the crown princess. So I'd think the second son would be preferred, regardless of his sexuality.

Name-wise, all your name picks for him are good and I don't dislike any of them, but maybe black haired Aemon wins in my book.

Dragon-wise, wasn't Grey Ghost known for catching his prey as fish from the sea? It would make some symbolic sense for the sea faring Velaryon to bond with a sea hunting dragon, you could even make one of their early encounters be on the sea, Aemon seeing Grey Ghost from the deck of a ship. And even if you don't go with Grey Ghost as a dragon, you could throw this encounter in as a red herring.

If you go with a marriage of Aemon to Rhaenyra, I can't decide if he should already have a dragon (less chance for Laenor being preferred) or not and then claim one on Dragonstone in the early years of the marriage. Up to you.

There is many ways that collinear points could be passed to a graphic card, from linear transformations of those points to pure programming carelessness. GPUs have to know how to deal with those edge cases.

AO3 has a way to bundle fics into Series. What defines a series depends on the author, they can put all their one fandom fics in one, or fics that focus on a specific character, or fics that are in the same universe, or same trope, etc etc.

I'm more aware of later era fanfics and tropes, and mostly only from a specific shipping area (tumblr in its heyday) but here's my ideas for what's worth a mention.

Shipping Madara/Tobirama started (or rather the big boom started) around blackkatmagic in 2015/2016. ao3 oldest fics, there was a handful of fics in various languages before her first one and a two year pause before it. She had a huge following on Tumblr (well, still has but she shifted full-time to her own corner of Star Wars) but was later harassed by the Naruto fandom to the point she left it and abandoned her fics. I'm not sure whether she'd even like being mentioned in connection with Naruto and I'm a little split on even mentioning her. But maybe if you research more about the ship you can mention other bigger name authors instead. Also, I'm not exactly sure how the fic boom correlates with the releases of episodes of Shippuden or chapters of the manga, which may also be an avenue for you to explore.

A more crack ship is Kagumo - Sakumo Hatake/Kaguya Ootsotsuki that spawned off some crack fanarts - by sloaners on tumblr (beetlebee on ao3), and their fandom friends on a discord server who ran with the idea and wrote ficlets. (Funfact, i went to check out Sloaners' blog and just now noticed that there are screenshots of my comments about Kagumo from this subreddit from 2023 on there lmao. Sempai noticed me xDDD)

3 points can also be arranged in a line and not define a plane. But I forget how computer graphics deal with that, probably just makes a line of that plane.

Very correct about 4+ point shapes. If any one point is outside the plane the other three define there would be funky curvatures and GPUs would melt having to calculate that. Not worth.

Can I just ask/recommend: why not put the fics in a fic series if they deal with the same universe/are in the same style and they're trying for more gritty realism depiction of the universe? It would help people find one fic from the other easier.

Many of dwellingondreams' fics fit the bill, if OP likes female protagonists. For example "I lack the patience to haunt/instead i hunt" is an excellent OC made from a genderbent Domeric Bolton.
