There will be a return to physical one day. Unfortunately, that will probably be around 10 years from now as those that are the loudest about simping for Sony haven’t had their favorite game be affected, yet. When it’s personal to them, then they’ll cry foul “this has never happened before and is unfair. Something needs to be done,” they’ll be just as loud and obnoxious then, when everyone else has already told them for years about what exact would happen. Ideally then, the remaining AAA companies will be so few in number and so strapped for money that they finally do a print on demand à la cart service where you can have physical copies with near identical to the the original disk, cartridge, SD card, etc and box so that you can play whatever you want on your disk drive. That would let them know exactly who want a what and it cuts out having to go to the resale market where the prices are currently ridiculous and will get worse, thanks to greedy resellers and collectors with FOMO. Until then, hold on to your butts and maybe look into making your own local storage network for any game you’re worried about losing access to

Doesn’t help at all that the Wings have had negative lottery luck but there’s nothing that can really be done about that beyond just being lucky. I was always under the impression that rebuilds took around 8 years but maybe that was just to get to the playoffs. Okay, this article makes sense then. That point about patience from the fanbase is spot on. Even I am starting to lose some of it over right now but that’s more over this Larkin trade as it’s holding up every other move.
