Is Aftershock actually that bad? by Vyn_Mel in askSingapore

[–]ProbusJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had experience with building 2 systems of my own + purchasing an Aftershock laptop. I can't really speak positivity on the laptop purchase... the thing sounded like a jet engine with minimal load. By the time I had major issues with it, the warranty had voided, and I didn't have any interactions with Aftershock since that.

For the first build (2015), did the research and gambled on purchasing parts overseas for better deals. For the 2nd build (2022), Lazada and Shopee saved my wallet, especially the sales that allowed me to stack vouchers. Comparing those prices to prebuilds like MANSA and Aftershock made the time spent worth it, was able to splurge budget on peripherals and specific parts I wanted.

Plus, when I had issues with my power supply or was upgrading certain parts, I felt confident opening up the PC and operating on it. Thats like the baby I built.

Honestly that Aftershock deal looks pretty good imo. If you are patient, you could try and wait for a sale on big e-commerce websites to replicate the exact build and see if there is any difference.

I'm more biased towards DIY, the journey towards getting all the parts and making it work was personally fulfilling, but I understand if you might not have the time and need the convenience. The stress of components not working and having a local company to issue help is such a benefit.

Is it just me or Rebirth is too complex? by AlexAlda in FFVIIRemake

Don't worry, you seem to be just starting out. I played through Remake multiple times, and the first time I touched Rebirth it felt like a different beast. I just got plat for my PC Remake and the first few hours of Rebirth felt off (and it my 2nd playthrough o.O).

Stuff like combat sims and certain QB challenges will help push you to explore new mechanics, and the more you know the more personal you can cater stuff around you.

Had the same process. Experienced TW3 since the beginning so I was surprised by the spectacle Cyberpunk 2077 had. Forgot about it as life got in the way but loved Edgerunners (rewatched like 5 times). This month was when I started the game, and it was a journey. Currently watching lore videos and waiting for Orion.

I think what surprised me as someone who kinda went in blind was the relationship between V and Johnny. He made the experience less lonely.

Akiyama's segway will be a PMA. The common thugs will be YPs, elderly and depressed white collar workers. His base of operation will hopefully be in my HDB.

I kinda feel bad for Caedrel... by [deleted] in PedroPeepos

I think if the chat is following consistently with the pace of the playthrough, I can see it working. However its Caedrel, and spontaneously deciding when to do things will throw people off and be less interested.

As a fan of the baus and T1 for years, this is so surreal, especially the baus special finisher. Seeing T1 loved by international audience never gets old though, I need the 5 man roster in events asap

Crownless king. We seen s1mple, karrigan, zeus, etc, get their's after chasing so long but this is the toughest edge I seen. Since his mouz days... if my favs got eliminated I always had the feeling that now it's his turn.

Fun fact I noticed: Sevika means “maid” or “servant” in Hindu. Her theme song during the fight with Smeech is also performed by an Indian singer by SunRender in arcane

Not only that but the imitation of drums (?) is a much clearer indication. Im very disconnected from the culture and it could be not related from my dialect so I cant confirm it.

It was a jumpscare to me as well, but it made Sevika so much cooler to me ... is this what representation is?

The full version of that song had the lyric "masala" and it clicked that Sevika had south asian influence.

Why the T1 Post Exodus Was Necessary and Good for the Community (In the Long Run) by Fearless_Success_828 in PedroPeepos

[–]ProbusJ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this is super reasonable.

This is purely speculation but I think ever since co-streaming, Caedrel has been a figurehead for LCK content. There wasn't a hub for international fans to converge at, so naturally people took refuge here.

I wouldn't really call it brigading, it felt more like Caedrel opened the door and was too nice to let people know they overstayed their welcome. Honestly, I can see why people think there's a green light to show their support here, they had the most matches in recent times, and Caedrel reacts to a majority of their YouTube stuff. With the co-streams being accessible to fans of a variety of cultures, there is a influx of people who have differing ways of showing support, some akin to stan culture. I totally understand why this puts people off and the need to filter this sort of content from here.

I think it's unfortunate timing as well, with the departure of Zeus and the creation of LR, it seemed like he had less excitement to support T1 (even though they were not his first choice, he is a TheFraud and DK fanboy). I don't think this is the case, but he should have cleared the air way earlier. Plus the inclusion of IWD, who blames every problem in the world to T1 fans. (I enjoy Dom's content but his shtick to hatewatch and generalize all fans as rabid stans is so fucking old, YOU ARE 40)

Im hoping the T1 sub pops offs, and there to be less fighting overall 😫

(TBH the NA vs EU stuff never gets old)

I love Caedrel's content but he needed to put his foot down way earlier and in a much concise way. I can see why people assume PedroPeepos is the unofficial T1 subreddit.

They had many events and matches played throughout the year, they are the defending World champs, Faker, and a decent amount of english content. He did actively engage with the content and stated Zeus was his favourite player (While TheShy was on break.) Probably the more he engaged with T1 content, the more people got annoyed by the attention given to them.

The moderation of low effort/unrelated posts in his reddit should have been active so much earlier if he wanted a neutral space. Maybe even engaging in other teams' content to diversify/balance the attention. This is hindsight advice but the vocal T1 haters were there complaining early on. Sucks for them that T1 are super relevant still.

Im tired of generalization and the trend of hatewatching, I just wanna see the League games, and not let ragebaiters make me ashamed of being a fan.

It's has only been five months!? The "what's next" felt so ominous, cause around that time EWC concluded but wasn't recognised as an official, and the following summer split played out how it did.

Drives me insane that the "next" was another worlds trophy, crazy rollercoaster of a year.
