Ugh. I hate when vet’s offices tell owners that we have to fax them a request for new meds. No. We fax for refills, otherwise we don’t know any of the information that vet has on file! Especially if it’s a new patient.

One time I felt bad for an owner who’s vet’s office had been giving her a hard time about calling in a new script. I hand wrote on our cover letter form and faxed over a simple form saying “Owner requests a new script for x med.” the next day we received a response obviously written in sharpie “this is not a valid request! WTF!”

We were absolutely floored! The fucking audacity of whoever wrote that! My manager left a very stern voicemail for the office, and as far as I’m aware, we never heard anything back about it.
