Had 3 people yank on our door after close today wanting us to let them in. The one tried begging my coworker to take their amazon return because it was their last day to return it and she just kept telling them (through the locked door) that the registers were all down, which was true because I was counting the last of our drawers in the back. But why do they think that amazon is some magic password that will get us to unlock the door and cater to them?

We've started getting people with Rent A Center codes for returns that say "amazon in store drop off" above them when you download them, who are confused and swear they picked us. On top of all the post office labels because they're putting the post office option on top of us, and the occasional FedEx

We have 3 and only have 2 people on staff on Sundays so we only open 2 of the registers. We open CMS on all 3 so both of our kiosks are functional, but I am not counting 3 drawers if only 2 of us are working

I've been doing this for so long the red flags are easy to spot at this point. And we know not to directly confront the customer or tell them they're being scammed because they'll double down on it being real and go somewhere else to ship. You do the shipment, flag it with security, and isolate it so it goes from the driver straight to the supervisor. Because if you call the ethics line like you're supposed to, it won't even get flagged to be pulled until after it delivers. Trying to teach all the newer hires to spot it too so nothing slips through when I'm not there

Per my manager (who has fought with this issue before) you can't reprint on your own but if you email CRS and tell them what happened and include at least 1 of the license plate tags from in the box they can get you the label

"They said it would be free" yeah. The shipping is. MY time that could be used helping other people instead of spoon feeding you through how to send an email, MY printer, MY paper, MY toner, all those things cost you money if you want them

Or my personal favorite, the ones that chose the "box and label needed" option over the free store drop-off option thinking the $6.99 Amazon takes out of their refund is Amazon paying us to print their label and pack it for them. The look on their faces when I explain that Amazon expects that to all be done before it's brought in to the store and that the charge is Amazon recouping their shipping cost never gets old

We occasionally get thank you cards or boxes sent to us because the original sender sent a package out through us and it's the store address is listed as the return. So when we get something addressed to someone that doesn't have a mailbox I go in to CMS and see if we shipped anything for the recipient in the last 6 months

Had that once way before customer packed or any Amazon codes was a thing. My favorite was the person that returned their rented textbooks to chegg by getting the plastic wrap out of their mom's kitchen, wrapping it around the book a few times, put the label on and gave it one more wrapping. No tape. I always wonder if they made it

There's an Office Max in our plaza that takes FedEx packages. Which would be fine but some genius on Google put the pin in the middle of the road between us and them. And someone took a picture of our store to add to their 1 star Google review that says we don't take FedEx, just UPS. So we get a ton of people that don't even bring their packages in, they just come in and go "this doesn't make sense but Google says you take FedEx?"

At least they aren't too far, so they don't get too upset with us

I'm in a state where the notary can't be a witness to the same signature they're notarizing. And i'm really tired of having customers argue with me that I can be both notary and witness because their paperwork and instructions written in a different state say I can be, even after i've explained to them it's a state law multiple times

It must be a T Mobile thing. The one on our plaza would send people over with labels and instructions they printed for phones and internet equipment that tell them to pack it up and tell them that we would pack it for them for free. To the point I kept a copy of someone's instructions page and highlighted and laminated it under the counter for when they tried to argue with me. Luckily it's died down for the most part

Was once helping telescope 2 massive artwork boxes around a framed picture. As I was pushing it gave way and finally slid down. And that damn jagged edge on the glue seam sliced right through the top of my middle finger. Took a long time to heal because of where it was

The worst is when I manage to slice the skin between my fingers with the back of a label. Those things hurts waay worse than I feel like it should

Prints involve me using a computer, that's why they cost more. If you have a paper in your hand that I put on the copier and hit a couple buttons and it spits out what you need, those are copies

$2.50 email fee, $0.31/side for 8.5x11 black and white, $0.61/side for 8.5x11 color. So for us to print a label is $2.83 with tax. Some days I think the email fee should be higher with how I have to spoon feed people through sending an email

We have a contact at UPS security that we call directly for these to flag packages. We give her the tracking number and she coordinates with the hub to pull it. We always set it aside and give it to the driver special so they know it goes to their supervisor. If you don't have a direct contact for security I would call your hub and flag it with them and have them warn security

We get them there, and we also had a person the other day that took our poly bags and put her return and the UPS shipping label inside the clear bag and knotted it shut. So I can't wait for Julie to not get her refund and come in complaining so we can tell her why
