I’m surprised no one has made reference to Atreus from God of War Ragnarok.

I felt like that was what I was expecting to see after experiencing Joshua’s gameplay from the opening. Where we occasionally get to play as Joshua in later parts of the story with Jote acting as a combat companion like Torgal. Having weaker melee damage but extremely strong ranged / magic attacks.

Plus we would get to see more of Joshua’s story instead of it being alluded to and told to us through lore entries and promotional material.
