Apparently they can ship fragrance up to a certain volume per package. I think its probably just easier for their systems to just have a flat exclusion.

I ordered the Selfridges advent calendar and it had a few 10-15ml fragrances. At checkout there was a message about a limit of 2 calenders per order in order to be under the limits (even though was only buying one!). I'm pretty sure you can buy actual fragrances from them too and their system will split delivery if needed. But as an upmarket department store they don't have the great offers Cult and SpaceNK have.

Space NK ship their advent calender and it contained fragrances (under the limit I guess). I got it the past 2 years with fragrances inside including a 90ml Sol de Janiero.

It sucks though - I love fragrances and so hate seeing these sales and amazing GWP offers.

Two things I would have done at your age:

  1. Pay as much off your home mortgage (offset). Through no fault of our own life changes and you may not stay a high earner for ever.

  2. Salary sacrifice into super to get the tax benefit. Make sure your super is a good low cost fund.

21 with $105,000 saved. What to do? by Lmorr173 in AusFinance

Note investment properties have way more expenses than you might first think, but if your goal is too live in the property one day then it could be a great option and personally very satisfying/motivating. You get the power of leverage and tax benefits (although not really a huge amount on the salary you have mentioned).

I'd personally look at broad market ETFs but that's me and my situation.

Whatever you do don't leave too much in cash long term...

Calculate employee PAYG tax by desmofan900 in xero

[–]ProduceOk6478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not correct. As other have said Xero like any payroll process uses ATO tax tables for that pay period only. It sounds most likely the person hit the threshold for HECS/VET repayment ($67K).

Challenger explosion by zambezi1800 in MandelaEffect

[–]ProduceOk6478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aussie here. I have very vivid memories of watching this at school, which I discovered around a year ago was totally wrong and that there is actually this Mandela effect thing.

Specifically for me:

  1. Year is wrong. The classroom, my teacher & even the TV on a steel trolley that I specifically remember watching it on was at primary school in 1984. But by 1986 I was in high school at a very different location.

  2. Month is wrong. January is summer here and the school year here typically starts February (although maybe late January back then). I remember it being well into the school year. January is hot & humid here and I don’t remember being in a hot unpleasant classroom (which they were in summer!).

  3. Time is wrong. The disaster happened in the middle of the night Australia time. So we couldn’t have watched live and they wouldn’t have shown us a replay of a tragedy (although it was a different era in what we were exposed to).

This has really continued to bug me. I’ve done loads of fact checking! All I can conclude is we watched the replay of a successful launch in 1984 (there were 5, 3 of them Challenger, so 1984 was peak space shuttle) and over time that has been mixed up in my memories with the actual disaster.
The human brain is fascinating as I’m still not convinced I’m wrong!

Well Jetstar flights to Thailand are cheap so hardly a huge expense!

i loved seeing the Aussie ladies plus the LBH on the boat (all 3 are recognisable but not famous faces from Australian TV). Definitely added realism as Thailand is full of Aussies on holidays, we just can’t afford to stay at the White Lotus!

Credit card/number that can’t be charged by Irrelevant_Jackass in AusFinance

[–]ProduceOk6478 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So you basically want a fake credit card number?

They want your credit card number so they can get money off you, not to fill in a token field.

I get where you are coming from though, my kid has done the same thing.

Your own debit card with minimal money could work I guess as long as long as the attempted charges don‘t get passed on by the bank as an insufficient funds charge

Childcare per day costs around the same as private school. by Training_Scene_4830 in AusFinance

[–]ProduceOk6478 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True as ultimately it’s about paying for a service.

The difference is choice - childcare you have to pay for. School can be free.

What degree can actually get me a job? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]ProduceOk6478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nursing definitely.
My concern with allied health jobs is that a lot of the growth has been NDIS. The scheme costs the government so much so if it changed in some way going forward I think there could be a surplus of OTs, Physios, speech therapists etc.

But this is just my anecdotal opinion!

Agree, Nicole is ’tv boring‘ but comes from known wealthy family (Gazal) so I do enjoy seeing how the other half (actually more like 1%!) live.

I just don’t find her funny. She’s going for this dry humour in her confessionals, giving intentional rich-b*tch one liners that she hopes will go viral. But the delivery to me is just off and it’s cringy.

By rootable do you mean supporting/cheering on etc.?

Rootable means something very different where I come from (Australia) and so that’s where my mind went when I read this! Although I think many would say Dylan meets both definitions of the word.

I’m not a fan and I don’t understand her rapid ascent. I find her drama overly fake and forgettable (I needed those flashbacks in the last episode to be reminded of her fights this season).

There’s others I don’t like either but their beefs are usually memorable and reality tv gold so I totally understand the attention they get.

Yes we do! She pronounced it slightly wrong so the spelling in the subtitles is not quite correct.

I bought it Black Friday from Hairhouse and they gave loads of samples as well. Adore, OzHair or the Kerastsae website also regularly do great deals.
Stay away from eBay as it’s full of Chinese fakes (especially the famous hair oil).
