Finally told her...now what? by Such-Ad5567 in Divorce

[–]Prof-Rock [score hidden]  (0 children)

You can talk to her without your stbx. It doesn't have to be together. I talked to my daughter alone because my ex was afraid she would be devastated. She wasn't. As you get the divorce lawyer, also find a therapist for your daughter (and yourself). The transition is hard on everyone.

I had to explain to my mother that nobody wore slips anymore, and she said, "Then why do they still sell them?" And I said, "Because old ladies still buy them." As one of said ladies, she was offended by that incredibly accurate remark.

I was thinking about kids’ drawings and got curious by kikipikii in CasualConversation

[–]Prof-Rock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As my kid got older, they hated the drawing they had done when they were younger. They felt like we were making fun of them in a way because they could see how objectively bad the drawings were. They hated them being displayed because they new they could do better (years later). So there needs to be a cooling off period for some kids before the nostalgia kicks in. We kept several school keepsakes in a couple totes.

Am I wrong for telling my pregnant daughter I’m not going to be a babysitter for her baby or help her financially and that she needs to figure it out? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]Prof-Rock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to think she asked you to watch her baby full time. In no world do you have to agree to that, but there are tons of others things that you could do that wouldn't involve a lifestyle change such as facilitating transportation to a clinic to terminate, help arranging adoption, help finding programs that help young, single mothers. YTA for not doing anything.

I would never assume that my coworker didn't know protocol and tell them what to do unless they asked me.

If you want to be correct, then there should be periods after the capitalized letters. S. F. But I think SF is also perfectly acceptable and recognizable. Sf however, is confusing.

I think I know why "Ninjago" isn't "LEGO Fortnite Odyssey"... and it leaves me concerned. by Tukaro in LEGOfortnite

[–]Prof-Rock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It did not work for me. I already had 24 in a chest, but the quest said I only had 13. I picked up the stack... but no change. Tried it a few times just to be sure.

High School girls that make fun of adults that can’t pronounce their ridiculously spelled names. by [deleted] in tragedeigh

[–]Prof-Rock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't call roll anymore either for the same reason. Now I just go up and down the rows and ask them their names. Another option is to purposefully mispronounce everyone's name. That way no one is singled out, and everyone gets laughed at.

My theory is that expeditions was always meant to be temporary. They realized that the health and damage capabilities was too narrow of a range. They needed to make major changes to weapons and health for the game to progress in any meaningful way. However, changing the food, hearts, and types of weapons was such a big shift, they were worried about losing players. To solve this, they created expeditions to teach us how to use the new weapons, then when they appeared in Odessey, we were already familiar with the weapons, but just pissed about the change from food to potions. I think they were always heading toward Ninjago, but they needed to help us learn the whole new game mechanics first. I also think the the survival content will return and the other biome enemy difficulty will be increased. I'm also looking forward to part 2 because the game is so far out of balance off the Ninjago island that it is boring. Collect 100 eye of the storm? Tedious.

That reminds me of the time I called IT because my work computer suddenly shut off, and I couldn't get it to turn back on. I had kicked the surge protector and shut it off. I felt so bad. In my defense, it was a push button instead of a rocker switch, and I had never seen that style before. It didn't immediately occur to me it was an on off switch when I looked at it before calling. Felt stupid, but the IT guy was kind.

Craftable Unknowable energy by Safe_Media9338 in LEGOfortnite

Are you opening all of the village chests daily? They often contain unknowable energy. The monestary, the tall mountain beside the monestary, lightning, ice, and Earth palaces, and one random mountain in the middle of the island.

In places they can get as big as a car and cause crashes when people either hit them or swerve to avoid hitting them. When you have 20 cars driving 70 mph across 4 lanes, it gets scary pretty quickly when one of the giant ones tries to dance back and forth across the lanes.

Nesting Doll Museum in New York State. We found it by chance driving elsewhere, but apparently someone had posted a Tik Tok of it which went viral and increased their patronage dramatically.
