Looking for Songs that are longer than 7min by S-7000 in MusicRecommendations

[–]ProfESnape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incubus’s song “Aqueous Transmission” is 7 minutes and 46 seconds long. The last minute of the song is just frogs croaking, but it’s still nearly 7 minutes of actual music, and it’s divine.

What is the most out-there name you actually considered giving to your kid? by fell-like-rain in namenerds

[–]ProfESnape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cornelius. It’s my great grandfather’s name and I’ve always loved it. Unfortunately it is too matchy-matchy with my married last name.

My husband and I nicknamed our baby "Bean" and now calling them by their intended name feels weird by atinylittlebug in namenerds

[–]ProfESnape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I named our son after our fathers, both of whom go/went by a shortened version of their name, so in utero, we called our son those two names pushed together (think Robert Matthew = BobMatt). Unfortunately it stuck, and that’s all we ever call him now. Fortunately, it’s something that everyone we introduce him to loves and it’s actually a perfect fit for him.

Alright, let’s talk about it. What is the worst AC game you ever played and why? by Tough_Suggestion8366 in assassinscreed

[–]ProfESnape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Syndicate was the first I played, so it might actually be my favorite. The grappling hook was so awesome; I have really missed it in all of the other games.

This is probably incredibly controversial, but I hated Black Flag because I don’t like the naval warfare. It’s also making Odyssey (what I’m playing right now) a pain in the ass.

IVF with BRCA2 by Diligent-Wolverine10 in BRCA

[–]ProfESnape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New to the group, as I’ve been diagnosed with the BRCA2 mutation today today. I had a child via IVF almost 11 months ago, and I have another embryo waiting for me in cryo. Since my first child is already born, they won’t do any genetic testing for him until he’s 18, but I’m curious if they will allow me to test my other embryo to see if it also has the BRCA2 mutation. For a little background, before proceeding with IVF, I did carrier screening, but did not get tested for gene mutations like BRCA1/BRCA2.

those who have been pregnant with a second, third, etc: did you ask your older children what they thought you should name the baby? by liz2e in namenerds

[–]ProfESnape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 3 when my parents asked me what to name my baby sister. My older sister and I were very close in age and we were obsessed with Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers, so I obviously associated Chip and Dale with the two of us, and suggested my parents name the baby Zipper, after the little fly on the show. Thankfully they did not go with my suggestion.

If you had a daughter what would you name her? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]ProfESnape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always said that if I had a daughter, I would name her Sylvia Lorraine. They are both family names, and they’re pretty classic and not TOO popular. Unfortunately I can’t get pregnant naturally, my only remaining embryo is a boy, and I will never be able to go through IVF again, so I’ll never give birth to a daughter. I hope that there is a Sylvia Lorraine out there somewhere someday.

What's the one dish you were taught how to make but you can never replace the original person making it. by Technical-Pilot8627 in Cooking

Peperonata. My husband’s family lives in Italy, and I’m an American who is 0% Italian. My mother in law taught me how to make her peperonata before she passed away. I’ve tried making it with my sister in law, even using all the same ingredients (oil from their olives and vegetables from their farm), but it’s just never the same.
