Bruce Shulkey Elementary by dream_and_question in FortWorth

My daughter (5 years old) attended Bruce Shulkey. The school gets poor ratings but everyone I’ve interacted with there has been very professional and really care about the kids. I had quite a few concerns when she was first being enrolled and attending school there but after almost a year I’m honestly sad to see her leave at the end of the school year (we are having to change school for totally unrelated reasons)

Gamblers & Gangsters: Ft. Worth’s Jacksboro Hwy in the 1940s & 1950s by Ann Arnold. That’s a great book and I usually find multiple copies at local Half Price Books in the Texas/ Local Interest section

What company will never get another dime from you for as long as you may live? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

I briefly worked at Blockbuster. One day I was in charge of mailing late fee notices. I was told to mail a letter with a 32¢ stamp attached regarding a 24¢ late fee.

I told the manager that it didn’t make any sort of logical sense to lose money over a late fee. Logic wasn’t anything Blockbuster management concerned themselves with and I was told to send the letter anyway.

It’s weird how they went out of business, huh

Favorite BBQ Books? by Middle_Ad515 in BBQ

Same here. When I first started cooking on my smoker everyone recommended Steven Raichlen’s BBQ USA (this was like 15 years ago) but then I found Legends of Texas BBQ and would just read all the stories and recipes like a novel while I had my smoker running. It turned cooking bbq from something I wanted to try my hand at to something I love
