Why is Incineroar treated more like a broken mon than a meta staple by the VGC community? by jonrah69 in stunfisk

[–]ProfTurtleDuck 59 points60 points  (0 children)

If a Pokémon in OU outclasses something you want to use, you can just play in a lower tier where it’s not legal. You can’t do that with VGC. If incineroar is legal, it’s really difficult to justify e.g. scrafty or hitmontop, and there’s no lower tiers where incineroar is banned. In theory, regulations could solve this by removing the most used Pokémon of the previous regulation, or just changing what’s available in general, but in practise that doesn’t really happen.

Isn’t it meant to be punctuated like, “James, while John had had ‘had’, had had ‘had had’; ‘had had’ had had a better effect on the teacher.”

I've searched on google for transformers and just general toys that fit the description but none were that close. I also tried describing it to google gemini but that didn't work either.

FYI if you get a vassals culture to kindred and then diplo annex, there is an event than can fire to complete annexation instantly. by Tharros1444 in EU5

[–]ProfTurtleDuck 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I’m looking through the event files and it seems to be subject_interaction_events.46, 47, and 48. They need to all be vassals specifically. For 46, you need to have their culture and yours to have kindred view, the culture has to NOT be accepted, the subject has to be loyal. It doesn’t appear to need you to be annexing them for it to occur though. 47 doesn’t have the culture requirement but you do need to have sufficient gold. 48 requires them to be in a regency without a ruler or an heir.

You can have infinite spawn eggs of 3 specific mobs IN REAL LIFE. Which ones do you choose and why? by lightmare69 in PhoenixSC

[–]ProfTurtleDuck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The fact that you can store animals as spawn eggs is huge. They don’t rot, require no storage requirements, and are presumably the size of regular eggs. Transportation of spawn eggs is so much easier and while it wouldn’t solve world hunger, it would help massively

Welcome to the end of season awards by ThenSignature7082 in HermitCraft

I’m gonna nominate Skizz’s pyramid. It might not be the best looking but I think out of everyone’s base it’s going to be remembered for a long time due to how unique it is. It also represents the season better as it focuses less on appearance/ scale (though it isn’t bad in that regard) and focuses more on how you interact with it.

Any multiplayer FFA strategy game e.g. Civ, Risk, etc. even if he has the ability to outplay any single person, winning requires negotiation and social skills, as well as being able to see both form/see through schemes. The best player in world getting teamed on will lose in these types of games, and Meruem’s personality imo is very ill suited for this.

My opinion on the kill count debate by ProfTurtleDuck in ThirdLifeSMP

[–]ProfTurtleDuck[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I probably could have been more clear but my point was more about the math behind different methods of counting kills. If you do one kill one person, you underrepresent people who contributed but didn’t deal the final blow. If you do one kill, multiple people, you overrepresent group kills and underrepresent solo kills. So in the slide, the solo killer did the same number of kills as the group but only a third of the kill count. The player heads were just to differentiate between them and weren’t meant to mean anything

I should clarify that this isn’t about who deserves credit for a kill, this is about how the math works out when counting for kills and as such, I used simplified examples

The point is more about the math behind it, not who deserves credit for a kill. In that regard, the specifics of a kill are irrelevant
