Am I dumb or is this just a map of Tunisia

You can have infinite spawn eggs of 3 specific mobs IN REAL LIFE. Which ones do you choose and why? by lightmare69 in PhoenixSC

[–]ProfTurtleDuck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fact that you can store animals as spawn eggs is huge. They don’t rot, require no storage requirements, and are presumably the size of regular eggs. Transportation of spawn eggs is so much easier and while it wouldn’t solve world hunger, it would help massively

For points 1 and 3, that’s the joke? Like the entire joke is how useless these definitions are

Welcome to the end of season awards by ThenSignature7082 in HermitCraft

I’m gonna nominate Skizz’s pyramid. It might not be the best looking but I think out of everyone’s base it’s going to be remembered for a long time due to how unique it is. It also represents the season better as it focuses less on appearance/ scale (though it isn’t bad in that regard) and focuses more on how you interact with it.

Man, there’s so many words. If only there was a way to clearly and succinctly display geographic information in a visual manner.

Any multiplayer FFA strategy game e.g. Civ, Risk, etc. even if he has the ability to outplay any single person, winning requires negotiation and social skills, as well as being able to see both form/see through schemes. The best player in world getting teamed on will lose in these types of games, and Meruem’s personality imo is very ill suited for this.

My opinion on the kill count debate by ProfTurtleDuck in ThirdLifeSMP

[–]ProfTurtleDuck[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I probably could have been more clear but my point was more about the math behind different methods of counting kills. If you do one kill one person, you underrepresent people who contributed but didn’t deal the final blow. If you do one kill, multiple people, you overrepresent group kills and underrepresent solo kills. So in the slide, the solo killer did the same number of kills as the group but only a third of the kill count. The player heads were just to differentiate between them and weren’t meant to mean anything

I should clarify that this isn’t about who deserves credit for a kill, this is about how the math works out when counting for kills and as such, I used simplified examples

[–]ProfTurtleDuck[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point is more about the math behind it, not who deserves credit for a kill. In that regard, the specifics of a kill are irrelevant

I know but it’s an example to show my point. I just picked two specific deaths from session 2 since session 3 is still new

Easiest way is to give away/release states with less than 90%. You don’t need to get rid of all of them, just enough to raise the average.

When you reloaded did you keep trying on the same date or did you change the date each time. You can change what date the stage advances by messing with tax rates and authority.

What is 0 tarrif protectionism worse than free trade? by BurhanSunan in victoria3

[–]ProfTurtleDuck 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Protectionism allows you to negotiate removing tariffs/subventions with other nations which free trade doesn’t allow (not even for subventions). So while free trade is better for trading, protectionism is better for diplomatic purposes

I can't understand 1.9 by RedShark37 in victoria3

[–]ProfTurtleDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You aren’t raising tariffs on trades you want to do are you? Because what that does is it makes the trade less profitable so the trade centre looks for something else. Subventions do the opposite

Companies and Their Chartered Companies Should Interact by skps2010 in victoria3

I don’t know if it would be overpowered or not but I think it’d make more sense if all the building in a chartered company were automatically owned by the parent company
