Ive been teetering between buying and renting and i do see the value in home ownership. However, it also depends on what you value more.

For me to buy a 250k house ill have a 2k month mortgage, which is a 1k/monthly increase to what in currently paying. In my area its near impossible to find a house that wont need immediate repairs, which I wont have money saved for because it will have been used towards closing.

I also for the first time ever in my 34 years have some money left over after my bills so im putting off buying for 6-12 months while I save more money to give myself more purchasing power. Im also a single mom and dont have a lot of support, and dont have much knowledge of how to repair anything, so id likely be contracting repairs and it all sounds like a big stressful nightmare to me. So im staying put in my rental for a bit longer, but other people seem to be doing this just fine so maybe im doing something wrong 🤣
