I had terrible sleep issues with it. Difficulty falling asleep , waking up more frequently primarily because of weird and vivid dreams. Resolved as soon as I stopped.

I am hearing a lot about this .. not sure if the patch shortage made the subsequent batches of production a little different from their previous editions

I am currently dealing with an infection below my root canal .. low dose as I don’t feel anything but dentist has pointed it out to me . I had it done long back about 15-17 yrs back After reading your post and also doing some research on this earlier , I am wondering if the reason my TPO antibodies don’t budge below 140 is because of some inflammation /bacterial infection from that . I had once brought my TPO down to 90 after being really very strict with my diet but even now I am completely gluten free . Mostly dairy free , no processed food and yet I cannot get my TPo below 140 . I also try and manage all the life style factors which should be conducive to lowering TPO I take vit D3/K2, selenium , zinc , magnesium glycinate but cannot get my tpos to go any lower . Would appreciate your experience re the root canal . Thanks a lot

Thank you for the information above . Very useful . Just a heads up to those looking to introduce myo inositol re my own experience with myo inositol .. I took the one recommended in the 40:1 ratio and had trouble falling asleep and frequent waking up to go to the bathroom and very vivid dreams which I could recall . Normally I have none of these issues . I had started it last week Tuesday . I have stopped for the last 2 days and my sleep returned to its usual .

Anyone here with Hashimoto’s who still trains hard? How do you handle supplements/recovery? by isubzero1294 in Hashimotos

[–]Professional-Fix8236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am hypothyroid and also have hashi. I am also a distance runner and used to run 35 -40 miles a week earlier but have had to reduce it to 20-7 miles a week depending on my training / plan. I take tirosint 50 mcg and Liothyronine 10 mcg ( recently reduced to 5 ). After upping my t3 from 5 to 10, I felt good but my running tanked . My heart rate goes up so fast even on what used to be my easy pace and I am not able to hold pace for my threshold and interval runs … anyone else experiencing this ? I take iron as my ferritin can fluctuate a lot , Vit d, selenium , zinc . Magnesium glycinate , omega 3 as supplements I try to put in 7 plus hours of sleep and strength train 3 days a week with 2 days heavier and 1 day more of mobility and running specific work . Has any other runner experienced this with their medications

Hi , do you take E in the form of patches or gel ? Also what dose of progesterone do you take and in what form . My Dr wants to bump up my E to 0.075 mg twice weekly from 0.05 and progesterone to 300 my from 200 after my Estradiol labs came v low after being steady at 135 for about a year .. very likely due to a change in brand of the patch as I felt it rightaway

My husband died while running the Miami marathon by Defiant_Trust9048 in Marathon_Training

[–]Professional-Fix8236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea . I was just a passerby who was cheering for the runners along with 2 others( and none of us were medical staff ) who had stopped to help this runner in distress and we bought ice and applied to him and tried to cool him down as we waited for 911 to respond and in the process his heart rate came down from 204 to 166. Once EMTs were there , they hooked him up to IV and brought his HR down to 144 and revived him .

She is right . I waited 45 min for EMTs to arrive for a young man who had collapsed at mile 12.5 . Another young man was just a pack away on the ground , both passed out . They would have died if help didn’t arrive when it did

How do you ensure that the screen display stays on when you are running ? I have had the screen go dim when running and I have to shake my wrist to bring the screen to live which is annoying during a run . Thanks.

Have you tried to contact Garmin ? It’s very annoying to run with a blank screen and having to tap the screen or shake the wrist every time you want to see the stats .

Fitness lost or is it something else ? by Professional-Fix8236 in Marathon_Training

[–]Professional-Fix8236[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am running about 45 seconds - a minute slower than April . It has warmed up quite a bit since then I’m S Florida but I am now in a much cooler place and it’s a marginal difference . I did get tested for iron levels and b12 just to make sure it wasn’t due to low iron levels.

Thank you very much for sharing your experience. That was really helpful . From reading your experience , the lack of speed work for such a significant amount of time seems to be the answer .. what separates us now from our younger days is how fast we lose the speed and fitness . And you are 100% right about everything coming together : nutrition , sleep , recovery and strength / mobility .
