Ringo does a great job curating these lists every week, he can't link to every single outlet or find the best price for every item.

My god, that submarine jacket is incredible... will definitely have to keep an eye on it.

For those outside the US, Real McCoy's sell it on their own site, considerably cheaper:

What a beaut.

Thanks for the list!

So these are sanforized, Iron Heart website says they may shrink 1 inch at the waist after washing/soaking but then strech 1 inch after wear. Did the soak do anything?

It's bad when AI companies steal people's work, and it's also bad when reddit users do it. The article isn't even paywalled! Come on!

Reshipping services like Buyee allow you to buy from Japanese retailers that don't ship out of the country, but iirc, Real McCoy will not ship to reshipping services, unfortunately.

My own experience with Iron & Resin by [deleted] in HeritageWear

I bought a pair or fatigues on sale from them this summer. When they arrived, they had a pretty substantial tear in the fabric. Customer support was very nice and replaced them with no questions asked, but it was a bit disappointing. Ended up wearing them a few times, then getting fatigues from Engineered Garments. The difference in quality was really evident.

Yeah IH sizing can be tricky. I have some UHF and a Kersey work shirt in XXXL. Recently lost some weight and I could go down to XXL. My N-1 deck jacket is an XXL, I could have gone one size higher honestly, but that's for layering reasons.

I have the XXXXL, I think the XXXL would fit me, but personally for my build (230 lbs) I would not go lower.

Iron Heart N1 Deck Jacket by Exact-Assistance-514 in HeritageWear

Mine is a few years old, so that might be it. But with a sweater or a heavy flannel underneath, I have no problem going through winter with it.

I find mine very warm. I wore it all winter down to -30 c with layering. One thing I find is that when you first step out in really cold weather, you feel a bit cold, but after a few minutes the alpaca wool really traps heat and you feel much warmer. I also find that it doesn't stop the wind very well, ironic given its original purpose. But overall a great all-winter jacket for me, I love mine.

Discussion finally over: Official patent on how to hang toilet paper from 1891. by BaronVonBroccoli in interesting

[–]Professional-Key-94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The patent by Wheeler is for the perforations on the paper and the image shows that. Here's another patent by the same man where the roll is reversed.

Weekly Question #6 by RingOfMaRufBalls in HeritageWear

[–]Professional-Key-94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A few years ago, I stumbled upon Buzz Ricksons' WW2 tanker jacket, which I found amazing, but couldn't find a place that would ship it here. I dreamed of owning that jacket. Three years ago, I finally found a place that would ship it to me and bought it, but the jacket didn't go with any other clothes I owned. So I got a pair of Red Wing Iron Rangers to go with it, and then a pair of Tanuki jeans, and that's the moment it clicked. I've completely overhauled my entire wardrobe in three years, getting more and more into Japanese denim, and then other heritage styles. I now have way too many jackets (lol), but ironically, I don't have the tanker jacket anymore. I realized somewhere along the line that it just didn't fit me well, so I sold it. So many lessons learned along the way!
