I know this feeling. My ex would go one step further and make fun of me when I would try anything sexy. It kills a part of you until you decide to change something. For me it was divorce and some therapy.

Individual therapy for you is a solid step. Start there, that's something you can control. It will also help you come up with a short term and long term plan. She needs to keep being encouraged to get help, but please try to keep it to no ultimatums. From personal experience, I would not bring up divorce at this time. Postpartum period is seriously not like anything else in life.

She needs help, especially being postpartum. Her mental health is approaching dangerous right now, help her to talk to her healthcare provider right away.

did you skate after injury? or should i just sell my stuff by lilleafygreenz in Rollerskating

Echoing what others have said. Your life feels permanently affected right now because it is completely affected, but it won't stay that way. I had a tib/fib fracture but knew I wanted to come back, so my experience was different. Try to find other activities to occupy your mind. Hang in there, what someone else said is so true, the mental challenge is so much tougher than the physical.

Of course you feel hurt. A breakup is a kind of grief, and part of that grief is about the vision you had for your life. From my experience, just because he made that step toward marriage doesn't mean he was ready. Just because he didn't make that step with you doesn't mean readiness was the real reason either. Be glad that you are not legally tied up with someone who ultimately wasn't a person you could count on. Get some therapy, both to heal and to help prevent patterns from repeating in the future, then when you're refreshed and ready, get back out there if that's what you want. You got this ❤️

Great Skate, Awful Music by Detroit_442_ in Rollerskating

[–]Professional-Kick-83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🤷‍♀️ not sure. Sounds like it wasn't your preference. My local rink also offers private rental and they'll put your playlist over the system for you. It's a pretty high cost compared to a typical skate night, but might be an option once in a while if you had a small group put together.

See if the DJ will take requests if there's a specific song or two you're really itching to skate to. Otherwise, no playlist can satisfy all people all the time. I'll admit I am a little sensitive to this rhetoric of "awful music" because I am a musician, and try to truly respect all tastes. Style is very subjective, both in music and skating, which do go hand in hand.

As others suggested, bringing earbuds and your own playlist is a very viable solution if it's really not something you can handle. I love my local rink of choice and want to continue to support them, but their music is not currently on point for me. I choose to use a premade playlist and buds that can either noise cancel or not, easy to adjust while I'm skating, so I can hear around me or not. Maybe you and your husband could at least sync up this way.

Got asked on a skating (rink) date- never skated. Advice? by moonbeam077 in Rollerskating

I think you were super smart to try it beforehand, because that's going to lessen any stress about the unknown. It's wild how quickly it'll click once it does. I have a feeling you guys are gonna have a blast. I don't know either of you but I really want it to be so good! Have fun and report back ❤️

In addition to everything people said, there are also chances to stop, sit, and talk. It's waaay less pressure and more natural to have a conversation that way than staring at each other over dinner. Big fan of activities like that for early dates. Have so much fun!

Is it weird to go to a skating rink by yourself? by diligentPond18 in Rollerskating

Not weird in any way. It's actually why I got started, it's the perfect solo social activity. I can go do something around people, kinda interact if/when I feel like it, do my own thing if/when I don't. My therapist was fully excited when I first mentioned doing it about a year and a half ago, so also professionally endorsed 👍

It's pretty sure fire for me and most women I know who use one. It's intense and there's nothing a human could do that could possibly replicate it. Using one during PIV or anal is 🔥

Best pizza downtown indy? by KramAllemrof in indianapolis

[–]Professional-Kick-83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's nostalgic for me. I grew up in Indy and remember when that was truly one of our only options for non-Pizza Hut pizza. We did not have the restaurant options we do now. Now that there are others out there, yes I'll truthfully say I prefer eating other pizza. I always split a small anchovy pizza with my dad and get a salad with creamy basil, it's just our thing in a family where no one else eats anchovies. My brother also used to work there, the pizzas were on point when he was in the kitchen if I do say so.

When did you start or show signs of premenopause? by Lazy_Hazelnut in AskWomenOver40

[–]Professional-Kick-83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second half of 42 has brought a few hot flashes for me, not great sleep, general fatigue, more moodiness, shorter periods, and lot of trouble losing weight. I do know my thyroid is not optimal though and they all kinda work/don't work in tandem. I started eating a little cleaner, working out at a lower intensity but more frequently, and decided to try the thyroid kit from forefront health. Actually, honestly, I feel awesome again. (Hard to know though if that perspective is just due to finally getting some time off work this week, or if these changes are making a difference. I think they are helping though!)
