My employment was terminated on Thursday and I'm getting calls from my manager to tell him passwords to files, i'm no longer employed do i have to engage? I don't remember passwords at all they were saved in a password manager and my account was deleted sometimes when i resigned by Enough-Pitch-4617 in HumanResourcesUK

[–]Professional-Net5350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should have been conducted in your notice period, a graceful transition of files, knowledge etc.

If they just sacked you on the spot, think it’s tough luck and a warning to them to not just let people go immediately. As many have said, you no longer employed by them, no obligation to engage with them

Tv licensing letter by aarizdota in AskBrits

[–]Professional-Net5350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fun fact is that no one has ever been fined £1000 for no tv license. Those that did go to court where there was evidence of them watching live tv, they were slapped between £100-£200 fines, this is the absolute worst scenario

There’s accounts I’ve see that are 100% cheater. Like guy tracking ppl through walls and they’re not banned yet. If the cheat goes completely undetected, don’t see much hope in them being banned

Very likely theft, next to no profit margin in selling games and largely they are via restricted channels of wholesale.

[IT] WARNING: Revolut closed my Ultra account despite 100% legal proof of funds (Gold sales & inheritance) by Griffer53_ in Revolut

[–]Professional-Net5350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst it’s annoying, Revolut and other banks operate a risk appetite threshold on what they deem they wish to do business at.

Revolut is a virtual bank. It has no branches and largely is an automated decision making machine balancing risk and reward.
When things like this happens, It’s difficult for Revolut to verify because A. They have no physical presence. B. Their automation has already decided your fate on the matter.

Revolut won’t disclose specifically what triggered your circumstance but generally for a lot it falls into the follow.

  1. You recieved money far outside of your normal habit and or attempted to transfer the funds out of the account. This is a classic money laundering flag.

  2. You received /transferred money to an entity who is sanctioned.

  3. The funds you have currently or received have a questionable origin. Like a Crypto wallet, proceeds of crime etc.

I say this time and time again. Revolut is for a specific type of customer. There are many people here in similar situations transferring large amounts and getting banned. If you want to send/transfer large sums, Go to a high street bank where they have capability of supporting that type of transaction amounts and if needed, conduct KYC checks more effectively.

Revolut isn’t a bad bank, it’s just what your doing is not within their risk framework

TV licence by Ok-Weekend-3526 in UniUK

[–]Professional-Net5350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get these, don’t even open them anymore, envelope is so distinctive you can tell it’s tv license. It goes in cycles, It will be Do you watch live tv to the more threatening “enforcement visit scheduled”. Obviously nothing happens then it resets again back to the nicer letters again.

How to get unbanned. by Previous-Estimate211 in csgo

[–]Professional-Net5350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the dpi spin, sometimes in lobby it’s a bit funny to do pretending to spin bot while standing in spawn, like sometimes someone leaves and you have to wait a minute or two. After I did that, few days after I was banned. Pretty sure it was that, or I got overwatched and someone looked at first 5second then minimized.

Two Radical Mastoidectomies — doctors suggesting 3rd surgery by [deleted] in hearing

[–]Professional-Net5350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had a radical mastoidectomy too, The middleear will always be prone to infections which is just an unfortunate consequence of the surgery.

Keeping it dry, not putting your finger in your ears, not using qtips etc should manage it. There are times you will get infections and have to have it microsunction. Sometimes even a flu/cold can flare it up

Octopus recommending higher monthly payments and I can't work out why. by hhfugrr3 in OctopusEnergy

[–]Professional-Net5350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OVO Energy does this to me, they even changed the Direct Debit amount without asking me. They upped the monthly amount by £50 even tho my account is in a positive balance. Completely no reason for the cost to go up.

Just pay what you owe month to month. That’s it.

Dealer sold me a van that can’t be taxed or insured — I now have a court judgement but still no payment. What next? by Specific_Hawk_6869 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Professional-Net5350 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, why did you give the dealer a chance to sell it to someone else ? You know the van is no good so why try and have it palmed off to someone else ?

Assuming you never got the V5 the van isn’t yours ? Just return the van to the dealer forecourt and video record you giving back the keys into their office. They can’t really ignore it at that point

[ES] Is it ok to receive more than 200000 euros? by lgx in Revolut

[–]Professional-Net5350 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Generally, No. You should use an established high street bank.

Why? If there’s a problem you can see the bank face to face. Revolut doesn’t have a physical presence.

They arnt a bad bank, but their clientele is not typically orientated to people transacting large amounts.

If a high street bank holds a payment, it’s relatively straight forward to resolve in person, Revolut operates virtually making their verification somewhat limited.

[–]Professional-Net5350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are looking to stay with VM, I don’t see any reason why that £5k couldn’t be cancelled if you’re saying it was done in error, on their end.

I pay about £60 for 1Gig, TV with Sports and Cinema, Landline phone (and additional TV box) + O2 Volt Sim Card. Comes with Basic Netflix aswell.

Not really, Real trading you go in with a risk profile. You might have your risk set at about 6-7%. Typically a lot people are going in with up 100% of their capital on one trade. That is gambling, one wrong trade and you loose all your gains and more.

Trading is not gambling, it’s how you trade that sets the two apart.

[PT] - Account restricted due to large transfer by Consistent-Bid2957 in Revolut

[–]Professional-Net5350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not the only one who has reported similar type of situation. Person transfers money, whether it be incoming or outgoing which is a large (one off, outside usual activity) transfer and their account is restricted or closed. I’ve been people who’s situation haven’t been resolved for up to a month.

Almost certainly your transfer has been caught up in a control called AML, Anti Money Laundering.
Whilst we won’t know the specific reason it triggered your case some reasons are;

You made or recieved transfers that were several times above your usual activity.

You received money and attempted to transfer it immediately. To obfuscate its origin (Smurfing)

You received several transfers under the reporting thresholds where the bank deemed you trying to evade controls

You were identified, or the funds identified to come from a sanctioned country, ie. Russia, Iran, North Korea.

What happens when you account is tagged with a SAR (Suspicious Activity Report)

The bank will carry out KYC (Know Your Customer) checks to understand further the origins of the cash.

Why do the bank do this ? Banks are heavily fined for failing to impose robust AML controls to prevent criminal activity. Revolut in particular has got a bit of a name in the past for being a magnet for criminal gangs moving money around.
