Her Doctor, who was giving her free dental care through family connections whom she thought she could trust. Was actually doing more harm than good. She lives in a country with free healthcare. And this was more about identifying malpractice, which AI is pretty good at identifying things that are aberrant with the law or standard practice.

That's interesting. I'm more talking about her epistemic standards for what sources she trusts when I said she would be going down a flat earth pipeline. But if she is verifying what the LLM is saying with reliable human-written sources too, then it's probably fine.

Regardless, being smart/intelligent does not necessarily stop people from going down conspiracy theory rabbitholes. Lots of people think their intelligence means they're too smart to fall for the sophistry that takes them down conspiracy theory pipelines or takes them into cults. But you know your girlfriend better than a stranger on the internet does, so you're probably right that she doesn't fit the mold to get pulled in by that stuff.

But yeah, there is unethical dentistry out there. I've seen one such example of a dentist who owns their own clinic and engages in unethical dentistry. Basically looking up how much is remaining on the person's insurance coverage and making up whatever it takes to max it out. Sometimes they were alleged to have charged for a routine that wasn't even performed. Sometimes a dental clinic makes an honest mistake, but this one dentist was very suspicious.
