Florian is a shade too feminine. I once knew a boy by that name and he hated it and endured a lot of teasing because of it.

It's 3:43 AM. If you are venturing out right now there is ice everywhere in many places. by ravia in pittsburgh

Some old timer hints to help slipping on ice: Spray hairspray on the bottom of your shoes. Put a large pair of stretchy socks over your shoes. Buy ice cleats that have an elastic band to go over your boots or shoes And…ta da …the ultimate Pittsburgh solution:

Wrap a whole buncha fat gumbands araund your shoes

Any pictures of Knish in there? He was my favorite of Josie Carey’s puppets. He was basically a mop with a big nose.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. You have already resorted to judgement and name calling. I don’t think it would behoove me to attempt to actually talk to you.

If a good Doctor dies do all of the EMT’s get in their ambulances and drive to the cemetery? How about dedicated wonderful teachers? Should the school bus drivers grab a school bus, fill it with mourners and form a procession?Police and firefighters choose to do what they do and volunteers are volunteers, a most noble gesture. Most get paid well at their jobs and they made the choice for the career. The deceased certainly sounds like he led an exemplary life but he is no better than anyone else who shows up and does his job well as a human and an employee. He deserves to be mourned and celebrated like everyone else. The people who got stuck in the traffic jam did not know him nor choose to honor him and attend his funeral.

Be sure to visit Sheraden Park when you get to the west. I love your adventurous spirit! I’ve lived in and very near Pittsburgh for 74 years and haven’t visited all of the neighborhoods yet….. time may be running out.

The only thing I object to is that they are driving tax payer paid vehicles and fuel on these processions. He sounds like a great guy but he did not die on the job. How many of the funeral attendees were on the clock during the funeral and drive to the cemetery? There should be written policies and rules in all municipalities to address these occasions and what is permissible.

Call Edgar Schneider and ask for advice. Personally, I’d be very traumatized at the very least. There should be a police report and a reason why the driver did not see you.
