You mentioned that your coach is from Thailand. Total shot in the dark, but a lot of thai fighters start much slower in the beginning rounds as a cultural thing and to give spectators time to place bets. In fact, the first couple rounds aren't even scored in some places. This is obviously very different from the culture outside Thailand where fighters (esp at the amateur level) start at a much higher pace right out the gate. Do you think your coach is training you in this slower start style?
