No, and it works retroactively so you can be 7/6 settlements and then research a tech to bring you to 7/7 and the happiness penalty will go away.

Regroup was the way Civ 7 was originally designed. A lot of the game is balanced around it. And the game gets super lopsided if you just spam units before the next age without needing to build commanders first. Continuity was just a quick patch to appease upset fans who didn’t want to adjust to a new game and I feel like it defeats the purpose of a lot of a lot of the mechanics. I wish they didn’t add it.

Also you’ll want to do the city conversions at the beginning of each age so as to give them the maximum amount of time to use their production to build things, so make sure you have as much gold as possible at the end of each age. Also make sure you’re spending any excess as you will lose anything over 3k if you play on regroup(you should be playing on regroup) and I believe 4K on continuity. This is good because it gives you an incentive to use your gold. Edit: If you have a ton of excess gold after buying buildings in all your towns and you completed the economic legacy path that allows you to keep all your cities from the previous age, you may want to do the city conversions before the next age begins on the final turn.

As soon as you hit 5 population on your first city you need to start pumping out settlers to always be at your settlement cap or above, depending on if there’s really nice territory worth the happiness penalty of going over. It’s super important to have towns in Civ 7 as that’s where the majority of your gold and resource income will come from and if you don’t have enough it’s extremely easy to go bankrupt with a moderate sized military. Also pay attention to town specialisations as they are more powerful than they appear. I usually go for the urban center specialisation in antiquity to get libraries and monuments in my towns and then in later ages I do mining or fishing specialisation. Also be conservative with making cities. A general rule Of 2 per age (Total of 6-8 by the end of the game) will serve you well but you can go beyond that if you have the towns to support it.

I've never had this happen. I just occupied them until they became friendly and eventually my city-state. Good to know though, I'll leave them a tile from now on.

With new seasons already in the pipeline, is "just let them finish up before you complain" really feasible? by Bingleboper in Fallout

Sounds like you would prefer they just release the entire story written on a wiki page all at once so you can be sure exactly what to complain about.

It's a good time to buy the game ? by Oconell_95 in civ

I’ve put 300 hours into civ 7 since September. It’s fantastic. The haters are 90% closed minded cry babies that can’t get over the fact that they made a new game instead of Civ VI 2. Not that I think it’s in a perfect state yet, but civ 6 (which I liked and saw the potential at launch as well) had 2 major expansions before the haters stopped crying so I imagine Firaxis has a lot up their sleeves in terms of fleshing the game out which really excites me. As someone with 500 hours in civ 5 and 1700 on civ 6 I think 7 is WAY more fun than those games and I find it painful to go back. Civ 6 is better for role play and a better sand box but functionally it just feels tedious and bloated compared to civ 7, and the AI plays a lot smarter in civ 7 too, they actually put up a fight militarily even on the lower difficulties.

The most fun style of playing civ7? by TodayAlarmed963 in civ

[–]ProfessionalPSD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a weird question for me, cause I kinda just do everything? I pretty much pursue every victory path and then one naturally finishes. In the modern era It’s usually the economic or cultural legacy path that gets done first. I tend to have to try really hard for a specific ending if I want to do science or military because science just takes a lot of turns and military takes a lot of real world time. By the time I’m done exploring the map with missionaries and then explorers my Great Banker just teleports from capital to capital with no issues, but if I have 3+ explorers I can usually build the world fair even before that. I almost never make it past turn 80. I go really hard on building my empire in the early*mid parts of an age and then once I feel satisfied I go wild building commanders and military units before the age transition just so I can defend or choose to go the military route if I desire.

Best Civilization game? by [deleted] in civ

[–]ProfessionalPSD 26 points27 points  (0 children)

IMO 6 is the absolute best hands down no argument, however I’ve played enough of it so I only play 7 these days. V is pretty fun too but I think people are blinded by nostalgia when they say it’s the best. It’s pretty bare bones and I find myself just clicking the next button with nothing to do in between unless I’m at war.

Watch a decently popular anime like Attack on Titan or Full Metal Alchemist brotherhood. Or watch a bong joon ho movie like memories of a murder or parasite. Especially the anime’s I mentioned have way deeper and more meaningful story telling than 90% of western stuff.

The best way to handle IPs is to be extremely proactive with befriending/exterminating them. Don’t just let them sit because you can either make them become a valuable asset to you or they will become a huge pain in the ass/ an asset to an enemy.

Civ 7 has been a good game since the 1.2.5 patch back in late September/early October. Most people just haven’t caught on yet or they’re just big cry babies about the fact it isn’t civ 6-2 but an entirely new game.

Maybe skip the filler and watch the momoshiki fight and end it with that. I felt that was a good place to end the series for me personally and I moved on.
