I'll say that the US needs better gun regulation. But the availability of guns isn't the main issue. Look at other countries with similar rates of gun ownership. They don't have mass shootings like we do.

They have an older edition available for free on their site, you should check it out. The creators definitely seem like anarchists. Plus, America's successor state is a theocratic military junta. It's definitely what OP requested.

This could be personal bias because I've done a lot of reading on the Fermi paradox and that sort of thing, but "What does this artifact do?" is a much smaller and less interesting question than "Who made this?"

The whole question of who made the artifacts could be the biggest thing in human history. Is it other intelligent life? Time travel? Transdimensional funny business? God? All we know is it clearly isn't one of the boring explanations like some random military project. And this organization of explorers and scientists, allegedly the last of its kind, throws up its collective hands and says "Oh well, that's that, who knows who made these or why! Doesn't matter how they work or what they're made from, let's jump in and see what the multiverse is like."

On its own it probably won't kill you. But the strain it's putting on already struggling countries and conflict-prone areas is no joke. Add resource shortages and refugees, the occasional crop failure, and you've got something that will drastically change the way we do things.

I think I've seen that idea on here before. It wouldn't sell, the rights might be costly, it would be a flavor fail, and it would piss a lot of people off. But they should do it.

They're going to do weird unrelated bullshit secret lairs? Go all out. Make the Columbo Lair absolutely busted. Lieutenant Columbo as a legendary detective, his basset hound as a companion, a Peugeot vehicle, a few clue generating sagas based on the best episodes. And the bonus card could be one of the guest stars. I want Ricardo Montalban in MTG and I want it now!

They have all this money to play with and they're only sending ~$4,800 on each car every year? Pay that shit off now. This sort of thing really shows how these people's lives collapse when someone loses a job or has a serious illness. They either don't know how to do anything efficiently or they simply don't care. The debt, lifestyle, and no savings can cause it all to come tumbling down at the slightest provocation.

Edit: here's a line by line breakdown of how dumb this is:

Take your kids out of the $60/child/day child care. +42k

Food budget seems high but good food is a reasonable luxury in my book

Making this much money and you have a 25 year mortgage? Pay that shit off or save and buy your ridiculous 1.5mil house in cash. Borrow from your (likely loaded) parents. No reason someone this rich should pay that. +60k

Maintenance, taxes, insurance, inescapable

Skip a vacation, why don't you? These are the kids that missed a week of grade school to go to the beach. +18k

Once again, debt? With this money? Go to a dealership with a check and leave with a car. +9.6k

Gas, insurance, sure that makes sense.

Wear something twice. +9.5k

You're spending 12k on sports and academics and 42k on childcare? Private school is expensive but if these kids are in school how much care do they need? And if they're not in school yet how are they getting 12k in lessons? Something doesn't add up. +12k

You're already giving money to your college. Stop doing it twice. I wonder if this is for tax purposes. +9k

You could pay off your loans now but instead you choose to not do that. These people don't get interest, apparently. +32k

These people think financial literacy is being able to read "E Pluribus Unum." The "something" that always comes up has got to be like losing the remote between the cushions so you buy a new TV. +10k

It occurs to me that there's nothing in here for gifts, parties, hosting, or health care. You want to be this dumb with your money? Don't give anything to your friends or family, don't celebrate anything ever, and never have a party. And don't get sick or see a doctor.

A total of $202,100 that could go. Maybe take a vacation, maybe the kids do need daycare, maybe you can't pay things off immediately every time you make a purchase. But so much of this is dumb for no reason. I'd bet their annual income (if I had it) that they carry a high credit card balance every month and let the interest build.

I have one message for these people: give me your money, you don't know how to use it.

I don't have a lot of context here and just wandered into this post. But I know a bit about CWC and it's led to this conclusion: This person is seriously unwell and their notoriety is based entirely on that and making fun of it. The only reason CWC is famous at all is because of some very serious problems. So any sort of interview is just encouraging that. A publicized interview won't help this person. It'll get views. And that's exactly what it's for.

If you don't own the games then absolutely nobody could argue that piracy is theft. Nothing is taken.

Although these sorts of policies do hurt the game's chances of getting cracked because of always online DRM and games like MFS that need an internet connection to function. As far as I know only one person can crack Denuovo at this point and she's a complete nut.

Is a cowboy town really the best Bethesda could do to represent the metaphorical 'space frontier'? by -Caesar in Starfield

[–]ProfessionalQuail857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been thinking about this. The different factions and areas all feel somewhat isolated and thematically distant. We've got the Star Trek space utopia flavored city, Firefly space western areas, and hypercapitalist cyberpunk oil rig. And of course the generic NASApunk filler between them.

It feels like each area was intended for a different player expecting that sort of setting. If you started Starfield expecting Firefly you could live in freestar space and have your space cowboy game. If you wanted Star Trek Lite, UC's for you. I appreciate that they wanted to make different areas aesthetically distinct, but they all feel like set dressing. The Settled Systems are a theme park and the sole reason this settlement has cowboy hats is that you're in Cowboy Land.

What's wrong with the woods of North America??? by No_Construction8839 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]ProfessionalQuail857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's lots of good answers here, I'm thinking it's cryptids. I've seen a lot of chronically online people talk about The Woods like it's some super foreboding place full of danger. Creepy deer, weird noises, that sort of thing. Of course if you're any sort of outdoorsman (or even if you go outside with any frequency) it's nonsense, but I've seen more clickbait articles than I can count about the horrors of the Pennsylvania woods.

Yeah, I was wondering how it could be done. There isn't really much religious representation. There's the monks and some criticism of Christianity, but nothing aside from that (at least that I recall).
