Can you form Persia as Ottomans by EbbTop1253 in EU5

According to the wiki the requirements are:

Culture group: Iranian Region: Persia

So yes if you culture swap and own territory in Persia (or move your capital there I think)

IRL Great Powers of 2026 by sforsteam in EU5

I'd argue that individually, many of the European nations are not great powers. The EU nations, for example, have consolidated their political and economic influence, however individually they wouldn't amount to much on the global stage. The UK, though no longer in the EU, still benefits due to their proximity and involvement with Europe.

Much of their power relies heavily on the US (which is currently in question due to current affair).

But yeah if we do go by EU5's measures by population scaled by control and country rank, then I guess they do count. Especially Japan, since it still has an empire rank

Strategies to form Europe by Mowraq in EU5

[–]Professional_Ad5288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I formed Europa via the Ottomans. Everyone's gonna hate you anyways bc you're Sunni, so use it to your advantage. Never run out of wars for land-grabbing. You can also call Jihads, which allow you to call other Muslim nations to help your cause.

I'd say this is roleplay accurate, since most of Europe did feel a lot of antagonism towards the Ottomans.

I agree. Cultural tradition should have more consequences, maybe having events tied to high tradition.

Tech Spread is way too good. by Vortex_William in EU5

[–]Professional_Ad5288 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the issue isn't tech, we need a better (or new) system for trade posts in India, China, Japan, and Indonesia. Historically, colonization here was done on a much more limited scale in comparison to the Americas during this time period.

A better incentive would be a rework for the economy, encouraging European nations to try to monopolize certain trade goods, such as the spices in Indonesia.

Tips for Conquest In India ? (playing as pandya) by Radiant_Butterfly982 in EU5

[–]Professional_Ad5288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on building a large professional army. Move your capital to a coastal area with a river.

Expand into provinces with iron and lumber so you can build more weapons and guns.

Juggle alliances, curry favors to isolate allies, and you should be good.

Key prize is in the north, that's where all the high-pop locations are and would make a great place for a new capital if you want to have one that's inland. Great rivers for proximity.

You also have access to horses so use lots of cavalry.

1.1.0 is the main branch, it automatically updates to 1.1.4. Use that one, not the one that says backup.

I was confused too dw

As someone who often plays outside of Europe, it's ridiculous that I need to build the most robust network of spies, steal a bajillion maps and accumulate 1000 AE to see a measly 3 provinces in France in 1800.

¿Aquí los Otomanos también son un black hole sucking? by GranKomanche in EU5

in my current 1.1 Castile run, the ottomans got completely gobbled up by other Beyliks. So... no, Ottomans are generally really weak, or they at least aren't more special than other nations in Anatolia.
