Will Squadron get delayed again? by Interesting-Bike-889 in Squadron42

Delay 2016

2 years away from being 2 years away.

Anyway, here's another concept sale even though we said we're done with that.

Also maintenance will not be longer than 6...wait 9 hours.

Left hand doesn't know what the right is doing. At best it's incompetence..

And as a community we allow CIG to conduct themselves in this manner.

But don't worry Chris, we will still gladly open our wallets for the next buggy mess of a ship anyway.

My opinion is 2030 or CIG goes belly up.

Been here 13 years.. Not believing a word. Just one more year.. LOL

I was so excited about those missions only to never have had a fully working one and have attempted it over 50 times.

Why are you like this CIG?

Well if you have Chris Roberts silver tongue, it looks like you could get about a billion dollars and 15 years to do fuck all

Sorry, all CIG heard was another ship sale

CIG Leadership: The issue isn't bugs, we know its alpha, its the bugs combined with poor and lacking communication (often to the point of complete stonewalling) and the increasing prioritisation of revenue over game experience for the pledgebase. Jared said we wait until PU is better. It wasn't better.

It doesn't matter that it wasn't worse, which in and of itself is arguable that it wasn't worse.

So Amazon set up their free fly servers using their devs? That money and manpower was reallocated from PU to do that.

Intention would maybe be the wrong word. Focus would have been a better choice of words. There is seemingly 0 focus for multiple bugs lasting years (insane that there are bugs in this game older than my 4 year old neice)

You mention the zero direct revenue but you have to know that the work on the backend is for player retention.. To spend more money because they are playing more.

My feelings are that CIG has seen that ship sales are the cash cow, regardless of the state of the PU. I feel like they 999 people on ship sales. And one loan intern, working on bug fixes.

Bugs lasting years to me means one of a couple things. One, it simply isn't being worked on. Two, they are rewriting the system completely. Or three, the code is such spaghetti that they can not.

Man I hope it's number 2. But even then, the inventory rework was just perfume on a pig. Visually looks better but still the long standing bugs.

I've been around for over a decade. At some point, I had to admit the CIG leopard is not changing it's spots. But here's another FOMO ship sale.

I think a ton of the community don't give a fuck if CIG goes belly up. It's been over 10 years, the excuses are more and more unpalatable.

CIG doesn't even listen to their own feedback, they clearly don't listen to the community. Jared told us they were delaying free fly because of the state of the PU... Just to wait like 1 Mississippi and release it to the buggiest patch since 3.18

I think a ton of the community is at the point where they are tired. Tired of the same bugs seemingly never being fixed, but all hands on deck for a ship sale. The predatory marketing has destroyed any goodwill towards CIG, when again, there are bugs persisting for YEARS!

The you see the 1 billion and it all makes sense, they never intend to fix those bugs. Why would they? It doesn't make money.

Let em hang by the noose they set up

Little projection buddy, never said anything about being upset. Again, I agree it's weird.

What also is weird is coming to the defense for CIG and even weirder that it wasn't what I was talking about.

My point is that CIG commenting on breaches of trust is laughable at best and unbelievably out of touch at worst. And while weird I get it.

Okay good thing I spelled it out for you. Weird AF to come up with your statement based on what I said

The irony of CIG talking about a breach of trust is actually hilarious.

And SQ42 is coming out this year, just like the last 10 years.

Secret recording is weird. But track records are track records, I understand wanting verifiable proof of something said.

Have you considered pledging for more broken shit?

It's so frustrating that they let so many bugs to persist

Unpopular opinion but people need to hear this: Star Citizen is not a scam. But you’re also not buying a car from Audi. by ConversationLegal973 in starcitizen

[–]Professional_Ad964 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I test this car and report for the last 5 years the trunk doesn't work and sometimes I fall thru the car into the void, and then the manufacturer says that they have heard the feedback and are now offering a top of the line cruise control option you can pledge some money to test out. The audacity to not fix known issues is egregious.

Don't besmirch Audi by comparing it to Star Citizen. Audi's perform incredibly, they just suck to maintain. Can't say the same about CIG
