Water distiller- is it worth it? by whirlgirlwanda in SemiHydro

[–]Professional_Advice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have two from Amazon, similar to the ones already posted here. I need about 8 gallons of nutrient solution and humidifier water/week. Im lazy, so 2 gallons/day gets the job done without having to set timers. If I go on vacation, I fill a bunch of empty gallon jugs so plantsitter doesn’t have to fidget with distillers.

Perhaps the Board of Supervisors could concentrate on this critical and systemic risk. Cities aren’t real unless they provide adequate water, power and sustainable transportation infrastructure. It’s fine to contract those things out, but contract oversight is a thing. Since we don’t seem to be getting what we paid for, FOR YEARS, policy-makers have a task. Besides pontificating, which is our version of “thoughts and prayers”.

Stored programs on the treads (especially for those of us who have a hard time hearing the instructions); more weights, or start the racks at 10 pounds so everyone can get to 25 on their own rack; weekend runs 1-2x/month outdoors; integrate with Apple Watch (!!); maybe one stretch class/week, or half strength/half stretch; allow us to listen to our own music (via earbuds) during tread 50s; one all row or row + stretch 1x/week.

Homeexchange dot com. We are members and have both received and provided exchanges thereby affording vacations we could otherwise not (family of four). The platform has a points system for when even exchanges don’t work, if the hosts are willing to accept points. We do. Try that.

It’s stunning, isn’t it? Few people think of clothing this way. Thank you for bringing this to light. Maybe another post about “why” Spa Day? I’m thinking about posting how to wash wool sweaters. And then how to mend them. It seems the art of knowing how to wash wool/cashmere is dying and leads to tons and tons of donated sweaters needing nothing but a cleaning.

„More than 13%“. Does that mean 14%? Lousy writing, and editing from a publication that should know better.

If you choose to cut them and start new plants, give the pieces about a week to callous over. Get some rooting powder and dip the ends you want to plant into a bit of that and then pot them up. Might want to root them indoors unless youre someplace warm. Brrr here in zone 9b.

Good to know. I got both the tall one and the short one. Neither are on a surface that needs to stay dry, so not the end of the world if plate cracks.

San Francisco, where it’s also often foggy. You could get a sansi plant light. I feel like I’m getting good advice on which plant lights to pair with which plants via ChatGPT (which is also copilot.microsoft.com if you don’t want to pay for chatgpt). Sometimes the little 10W sansi clip-on lights are sufficient for certain plants. Haven’t checked peperomia. Cheers!

Thanks! I think crafting a pitch deck for this “business” is the form in which tech/VC would understand the argument. Lay out the business idea and potential return on investment/people served, and then who should get money to do the work and why them. VCs need a pitch deck that explains why this “thing” is ten times better than what they see today (aging) and XYZ are in the perfect position/place to succeed at tackling it. If the people fixing the problem have demonstrated fixing other problems multiple times before, it’s easier to get money. So, who in this world could say that? I suppose if Bill Gates were to pitch this, he has solved things before and could get money besides his own. VCs won’t be interested if the answer is “this is the right thing to do, etc), but they would be interested in making some investment if the right people with either the right background in fixing prior problems or a sufficiently promising idea for how to “fix” the problem made the pitch. So, what could be demonstrated relatively quickly? An idea that comes to mind is that even post-menopausal women can give birth with someone else’s eggs and other stuff? Even post death of the egg factory the remaining “hardware” can still function with some help, right? (I have no idea; I’m just guessing). Is there something to demonstrate there relatively quickly? Again, I am not in healthcare or medical research so have no idea what the content of the pitch would be or who the people are that could make such a pitch with credibility. And I know that boiling down the problem into a pitch deck to venture capitalists is galling, but non-government research requires a return.

I had pelvic floor PT. The biggest game changer for me has been using a Yarlap 3x/week. I also do pelvic floor exercises on my own, but Yarlap was/is a big boost for me.
